so far so good
they are comfy, warm but not to warm. im one of those people who will sweat like a pig in the dead of winter so 800 grams seem to be the right number for me. so far ive had them for a month. once a week i do a warm up of about 10 miles. 70% marsh 10% river rock and then last 20% a 90 dagree incline of dry, hard and rocky. they are great in marshy, didnt slip at all skippy from boulder to boulder even tho tread was wet. dry hard surfice it worked but defently waffle tred works better. now the true test is how many months they can survive but winter is done, soon summer is comming wich meens i wont be able to finish this. i did notice some strings coming undone but that just meens possible that bad may happen and not a defenet. so far 4 stars is accuret. update. winter lasted 2 months longer and im sad to say there 4 cracks along the bottom of my boots. very disapointed. they survived about 6 months. i guess all and all that ant to bad.

Great Boots!
I received a pair of hand-me-down LaCrosses from my dad a few years ago that had seen many miles on them. Nevertheless, I was in a pinch at the time & needed some boots for the woods. I wore them once and was amazed at how comfortable they are, the good ankle support the provide & the sturdy platform they offer across all terrains. Three years after my dad thought he was just getting rid of his old boots, they were still with me going strong. In fact, I could still be wearing those boots today, but I figured I'd get a new pair with increased water protection. I decided to get a half size larger than my regular shoe (as this was the size that I received from my dad) and, for me, they fit perfectly. The extra half size allows for a little extra room in my boot down around the balls of my feet, but doesn't create an unpleasant rub or allow my foot to slip inside the boot.I highly recommend LaCrosse boots - the 800s are great - I couldn't believe that these boots felt every bit as comfortable as those hand-me-downs that my dad gave me. The break-in time was next to none. The weight is very manageable & they'll keep you dry on wet/muddy days. I recommend getting a nice breathable sock like those sold by Carhartt & you'll be good-to-go in all conditions. In 8 or 10 years, these will probably still be trucking along, but if I do decide to get a new pair of boots, they'll be LaCrosses.

Good Hunting Boot
I was looking for a hunting boot that would be warm, comfortable, and provide good ankle support. This LaCrosse meets those needs. They are quiet when walking, warm and dry in the snow and provide good support when climbing on rough terrain. I got the $20 discount for email sign-up, making this an excellent deal. Would purchase again and would recommend to friends or family.

Good Pair of Boots
I haven't taken a lot of time to write reviews before, but for a quick thought on these boots here is what is what for the "LaCrosse Men's 10" Brawny II 800g Thinsulate Hunting Boot". The boots came pretty quickly after I ordered them and select "super saver shipping", it took around 4-5 days from the shipper. I got them in and immediatly tried them on, they fit like they were supposed to and were pretty comfortable at a glance. Since then I have worn them every time we have gotten snow and they perform like a champ, (i got the boots past my hunting season so i hope they will last until then and after) the rubber sole is soft but not too giving, and very quite. The boots are very hot while in doors but very comfortable out doors, they give great support and i hope hold up under extensive use... over all great boothere are some "cons" for all the negative people... the boots are hot and so under alot of movement could make your feet sweat alot, so if you plan on trecking alot during hunting i suggest buying some really good socks meant to wick all of that sweat away from your foot so you don't freeze while sitting in a tree. The boots hold the snow and mud so if you walk through a bog or snow pound out the bottoms before you really have to use your tread on the soles. The soles sometimes are a little too soft and so can give you a sense of slipping, so until you get used to them don't panic and do a river dance trying not to fall on ice.Overall these are great boots, of course I have only had them for a little over a month and have worn them less than a couple weeks (off and on due to the weather). When I get these broke-in i will write again if they fall apart or loose any of the properties that are advertised.(update 12/27/11)well the boots held up last winter and i got to use them while hunting this past season (not as much as i would have liked too but still got to go out). again they performed like a champ and in my opinion are still a great buy. still recommend to buy some wool socks or some that are specially made for hunting boots and cold climate.

Great boots!
Our son needed his first boots for hunting this year. We felt comfortable with the LaCrosse brand name. We wanted a boot that would keep his feet warm and dry. These boots do that and more. Very nice boots at a reasobable price. Our son is happy with these boots, and that is always important when dealing with a fifteen year old!

Super comfortable.
This is an excellent light weight boot. It is super comfortable. When I was in the field with it it felt like I was wearing sneakers. That is how comfortable they are. Another time I used them to dig a hole in a muddy area. They performed well there also. An excellent purchase.

Not waterproof
The first time I wore these boots I hunted in wet and dry cover. They worked great. The second time I used them it was a rainy day and the woods were wet. After 2 hours my right foot was wet. I sent the boots back. So, if you are stepping in puddles they'll probably be alright, but steady, wet cover, no.

Awesome, fit well
Awesome, fit well, comfortable and keep my feet warm but not hot and sweaty like some brands I've had in the past!
