Catwoman: Soulstealer

I loved this!
This was such a fun ride and I did not expect it to pack the punch it did. I am a big Sarah J. Maas fan and I was so looking forward to Catwoman to see a different side of her writing and I was not disappointed. She delivered an action packed anti-heroine story with a ton of heart and some romance to boot.I absolutely LOVED Selina. She is so fierce and strong and smart and tough and she also has so much heart. At the base of it all her heart is what drives her. She is so easy to root for, even as she is robbing people left and right and causing general chaos. She is simply likable and at her core she’s a good person who just does bad things sometimes. And then we had Ivy, who in a lot of ways stole the show. I truly loved her and loved the friendship that formed between Ivy and Selina. Forever a fan of strong and positive female friendships. Loved Harley too, she’s such a loose cannon and brought so much fun and crazy to the story. And of course I have to mention Luke, aka Batwing. Adored him as well. He is such a good guy and just wants to do right and do something meaningful. And of course I loved Selina and Luke together. It was fun watching them dance around one another and seeing how both sides of their personalities intertwined.I feel like I need to mention though that I am not a comic book reader, it’s just not a medium I ever got into. But I love superheroes and villains as characters and I adore the genre when it comes to movies and other mediums. I mention this because if you are looking for a strict canon Catwoman, this probably isn’t the book for you. This is a new take on Catwoman, and I personally love her, but I recognize that those who are very attached to their version of Catwoman may not love this version. Personally I think the world has enough room for multiple versions and takes on classic characters, but I also get why some people don’t like to see their favorites messed with.Catwoman: Soulstealer was an action packed fun read from beginning to end. It had a great cast of characters and packed a real emotional punch. I just seriously loved this one.

An explosive combo of badass women - a must read
After Wonderwoman and Batman, Catswoman – Soulstealer is the third book in the D.C. Icons series. This book, written by Sarah J. Maas, narrates the story of Selina Kyle and how/why she became Catswoman. A wonderful tale filled with laughter, badass characters, and a morally gray protagonist. This is a spoiler free review.Catswoman has been such a great read. I love the author’s writing style and the way she delivers the story.Selina is a wonderful character to read. Her history is explained and the reasons why she became Catswoman will push the readers to love her even more. I was never bored while reading about her past and her adventures. The story is interesting and stakes are always high. The cherry on top is that she teams up with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn in this installment. The unlikely trio will keep you on your toes. This story is filled with witty banter, surprising and heartwrenching moments. A riveting story!Catswoman is about hardship, corruption, friendship, and a bit of romance spiced up with an explosive combo of badass women. A must read!

The wonderful Girl Power, Catwoman
After reading Batman:Nightwallker, I really wanted to try out catwoman as my next DC icon book. Few days before I was able to complete the book, but did not have free time to write my review. Finally it is here.We meet our female protagonist, Selina Kyle a star classed assassin, thief and sister. Badly affected by poverty, Selina struggles hard to give a healthy and better life for her little sister. She actually fights for her sister’s well being. After escaping from Gotham city’s slums, Selina returns as mysterious Holly Vanderhees. Teaming up with Ivy and Harley Quinn, she takes over the city, when Batman is out on a vital mission. But, she and her team is not left easy, by Batwing, who tries hard to safeguard the city. What I liked most about this story, is Selina, and her fearlessness, courage and bravery. Her sacrifices and struggles to give her sister a better life. The bond between the two of them is amazing.Next we see the bond between the friends. Catwoman, Ivy and Harley. They are all broken and damaged in their own ways, but yet they find them selves working together forgetting all the disputes. The quick love and emotions that pass between Holly and Luke is kind of cute. I was expecting more love at the beginning of the story to happen. But at the latter part of the story the reader’s dreams come true.I felt that Sarah J. Maas has done a good job in creating the character of the Catwoman. I enjoyed the story and all the details. The characters were well created as well as the story setting. Overall I enjoyed the story very much and would highly recommend it.My Rating (5/5 Stars) Tremendous, I like it very much

syrup
Typical, boring, stuff. Same old, same old. Good guys are dumber than dirt, egotistical jerk fools. Crooks are weaponized with imaginary weapons and can do things no human could do. And bat fool trips on his shoe lace looking like a dunce and the crooks get away of course. Amazes me, the vast differences in an authors books. One book is so interesting you can’t stop reading, and another is, not. After the first robbery, it’s Wash, rinse, repeat.

Catwoman vs Gotham City
Selina Kyle was training as a street fighter with a street gang known as the Leopards. They fought in an underground gaming warren in Gotham City owned by Carmine Falcone, the latest mob boss in the City. He arranged fights between members of various gangs. Gangs that fought at Falcone’s had prestige that kept them from being regularly attacked by other gangs. Selina had been recruited by Mika, her Alpha among the Leopards. Her training was a succession of fights against others who also owed Falcone debts. Falcone earned money by selling drinks to the spectators of the fighters he controlled. Selina fought to protect her sister, Maggie, whose medicines for her cystic fibrosis were increasingly more and more expensive and since their mother regularly disappeared for long periods of time it fell on Selina to pay rent, food, and everything else which she earned with her fighting. And then she was arrested, released, and indoctrinated into a whole new life with new training and an opportunity to revenge her separation from her sister and avenge herself on Gotham City. As her story develops it becomes more and more interesting and compelling. I highly recommend this book.
