SpeToolUpcut Spiral Router Bits Extra Long (4 inch) with 1/2 Inch Shank , 1/2 Cutting Diameter Solid Carbide CNC Router Bits End Mill for Wood Mortises and Cutting Dadoes Carving

Tool was delivered quickly and packaged very well. Needed a long cutting depth for two, 1.5 inch thick bass guitar bodies I designed and cut out on my CNC router. Gretsch and MusicMan style designs.Chip load was perfect and overall cut surfaces were smooth and clean, very little sanding after the fact.Very pleased with the performance of this router bit!!!!!!

Full disclosure, I ended up returning this bit because it was too big for my application. That's on me for not thoroughly reading the description. I did look at the bit before returning and debated keeping it because it seemed like a high quality bit. Ultimately though, I didn't have anything that could safely drive an endmill this large. Good bit, if it's what you need for your application.

The long cut length is nice!

Initially it was great but if felt like it got dull pretty quickly. Overall it’s still pretty sharp, but the tip is what’s used the most is dull. If they can add some kind of coating just on the tip it will greatly benefit its life. But I also have a WhiteSide brand tool and I feel like it lasts longer.

Run in a commercial shop on a CNC router in walnut and Oak.This thing performs better than the big names like whiteside, freud etc and at half the cost. It's so sharp its virtually silent.Very impressed.

I needed this to cut mortices in red oak for a KS bed, see footboard leg in photo.In the picture you can see how effortlessly it cut into one of the hidden screws holding the 2x4s together to make the legs, there was no visible damage to the bit after cutting into 2 screws it completed the 16 mortices easily.Cut was silky smooth no chatter, finish was very clean.

Got this bit for a project that I needed to do a lot of mortise and tenons. Stayed sharp the whole time and worked great. Didn't dull at all, so I am assuming the longevity is good as well

Cut maple end grain counter top like butter. Very little tear out, very sharp - only used it a few times but appears to stay very sharp with repeated use - time will tell. Based on price - I couldn't ask for more!

I've used this in my plunge router - it's a large bit, sticks out the bottom so i am careful to ensure it's fully spun down before setting my router on its side.That said, it cuts clean and fast. Very easy to control.I would buy it again.

Bit cuts clean and stays sharp.

I worked with carbide tooling in industry for 10 years, including working with top suppliers who make tools like this for cutting metal, composites, and wood. Packaging and quality of the ground edges is excellent, no chips in the edge and very sharp. Be careful if you are used to straight bits and using a spiral bit for the first time, as the spiral flutes on this bit will cause it to grab and pull in different directions than you will be used to from straight bits, especially when using on a hand held router setup.I will absolutely buy from this supplier again, though I think it will be a long time before this bit wears out!

I used this bit in a plunge router to carve deep mortices for concealed door hinges. It worked very well - nice and sharp with no burning. It was easy to plunge, and the finish on both the top and bottom surfaces was pretty good. It's also a really good size - the mortice in the photo is 21mm deep and I had plenty of plunge left and that was with an 18mm spacer!
