Seemed to work well enough when I tried it. And best of all, it's NOT made in China.

This is a well made aluminum garlic press. No sharp parts and has a stainless steel pin to hold the hinge together. This will be a long lasting garlic press. It is quite light in weight and has somewhat thin handles and a smallish working area where the garlic is actually pressed. So for people with largish hands this is going to be a little difficult to use. The handles are a little thin and not much clearance as they come together completely straight and flat. So I feel that I can’t get a lot of force to squeeze the garlic clove. They are also very smooth and with wet hands are not easy to grip as they do not have any contouring or texture. My main complaint is that they actual press part is very small and can’t hold more than one smallish clove. Made in Germany, not ‘China’. I will say it is well made but not well designed for large hands or large capacity of garlic.

I bought this garlic press to replace one that I own that does a terrible job of pressing garlic. My old press barely gets any garlic through the holes. This little press squeezes every last bit out and works great. I was surprised when it arrived by it's small size. You will need to cut large cloves to fit in the small basket of this press. How would I improve this product? I would make the basket larger and I would make the handles a solid piece of metal instead of indented like they are. Solid handles would be sturdier and are easier to wash. While I am pleased with my purchase and this press works so much better than my old press, I gave it four stars because of the small size.

I loved this garlic press. Easy to use, clean and worked well until the tiny little dowl that holds the top and bottom together popped out. It's very small and pushes back in if I jiggle it a few times, but I know it will get lost easily given its size. I keep the whole mechanism in a Ziploc bag so as not to lose the little piece which falls out into the drawer otherwise. I had been careful to hand wash it only -- never put it in dishwasher -- but it broke anyway. So sad because I love the ease of use otherwise. Of course too late to return now. Bummer.

A simple, sturdy garlic press that does just that. Great quality. Built to last.

1. hinge is sloppy. 2. too much space between interior piston and outer casing with the holes.

I've never had one so I have nothing to compare it to. Some of the garlic sticks inside and outside and you have to scrap it off with your finger and some it just won't come out of it. Not a big deal. It washes very easy, just put it under the faucet and wipe with your fingers and it becomes completely cleaned out. It works great for the price compared to the prices on others I have seen on here.

I just used it today and it is great. I love the fact this garlic presser is from Germany, best quality products ever

Ich war auf der Suche nach einer preiswerten Knoblauchpresse und bin schließlich bei diesem Modell gelandet. Die Knoblauchpresse ist sehr schlicht gehalten und erfüllt ihre Funktion, wennauch besonders große Knochlauchzehen z.T. vorher zerkleinert werden müssen. Die Presse ist aus Aluminium gefertigt, was zunächst bedenklich erscheint, da Aluminium nach neusten Erkenntnissen negative Einflüsse auf unseren Körper haben kann und beim Pressvorgang Aluminium in das Pressgut übergehen könnte. Sinnvollerweise wurde die Presse daher mit einer lebensmittelechten Schicht eingehüllt. Leider ist diese Schicht nicht unempfindlich und weist daher nach 2 jähriger Benutzung leichte Abriebe auf, was wiederum bedenklich sein könnte.Daher nur 4 von 5 Sternen. (5 Sterne gäbe es, wenn die Presse aus Edelstahl gefertigt wäre)

Ich habe dieses Produkt gekauft, da auf der Amazon-Produktseite im oberen Bereich als Material "Edelstahl" angegeben war. Nach Erhalt zeigte sich, dass die Presse aus Aluminiumdruckguss besteht (wie es auch im unteren Bereich der Seite bei den Produktbeschreibungen korrekt genannt ist). Da ich im Allgemeinen misstrauisch gegenüber Aluminium bei Geräten zur Lebensmittelverarbeitung bin (mögen sie auch beschichtet sein), habe ich die Rückgabe beantragt. Durchwegs positiv: die völlig problemlose Abwicklung der Rücksendung durch Amazon!

Ich habe eine Presse gesucht, die den Knoblauch auch wirklich nutzt, und nicht nur die Hälfte.Das ist mit dieser Presse durchaus möglich, mit ein bisschen Geschick.

Ich war zuerst skeptisch, ob die Verarbeitung für diesen Preis auch in Ordnung ist. Kann ich jetzt bestätigen - das ist sie. Ich finde die Presse besser als die herkömmlichen Pressen, welche meist eine extra Platte mit drinnen haben, welche den Knoblauch durch die Löcher presst - diese sind nicht so leicht zu reinigen wie diese Presse. Ich bin voll und ganz zufrieden.
