Planted Aquarium Light
Awesome aquarium light. Great at growing low maintenance plants! I have this light on my 14 gallon cube tank.

Simple to install, bright, 'moonlight' option (manual switch), cord too short
I owned a previous version of this light from Finnex and really liked it...but over time (years) it got dimmer and dimmer. It was time to replace it. I like the way the legs attach to this newer version better than the older one. Size, shape, style are attractive. Light is wonderful. But, the cord is too short. Anyone with common sense knows if you have a cabinet and then the 75 gal tank on it, you are looking at up to 54" from floor to top; then add from center of tank to edge where the cord meets the light, plus a few inches to center over the top (width)....well, a stubbly little power box cord connecting to a short cord to the light just doesn't work. My older finnex had a longer cord that attached directly to the power box...much smarter. Finnex; add at least 2 feet to the cord!! If someone has a shorter height/width tank, they can wrap the cord behind or in the cabinet. If you need to, add $3.00 to the cost. Good grief. I don't like that I had to plug this unit into an extension cord to get it to the power outlet in my cabinet, or the wall near the floor outlet!! Other than that, very happy with this. Easy to use set up...no complicated programming.

A great little light for a 5.5 Gallon aquarium
The smallest version at the time of writing is the 12-16 inch which Is what I bought for my 5.5g planted tank. I don't think that this would work incredibly for high light plants (there are special plant lights for that) but it seems to put out enough light for low to medium light plants. The little timer built into the cord works great, accurate to within a few minutes and doesn't seem to drift much. I know that this is a relatively small inclusion given how many of us in the hobby already have timers or smart outlets but it's nice for anyone who doesn't already have those. The light itself seems to come out nice and strong, a good mix of colors with adjustability so that you can get it right where you want it. Basically an aquasky without bluetooth for half the price. To me that's a worthy trade off but you need to decide whether or not that would be worth it to you.

Perfect for my 50 gallon tank!
I’ve always been a huge fan of Stingray lights. This one was no exception! Light is perfect for my 50 gallon goldfish tank. Easy to use, slim, everything I wanted in an aquarium light!

Outstanding!
My tank is relatively young and medium planted, I would say. Just couldn't seem to get the plants to really "take off". Researched the finnex 2 on YouTube and it got great reviews from a lot of aquarium pros. This light was the missing link for me. You can clearly see the difference between my old light and this one. Very high quality light for under $100 and a new aquarist like me. Two thumbs up here!
