Sodastream Spirit Sparkling Water Maker with Gas Cylinder Megapack

I bought this as a gift for a relative. They have told me that they are very happy with the soda stream and well worth the money. Knowing this person as I do, I think if they had been unhappy with it they would have said! So a good buy all round.

Easy to use once you know what is required. The instructions could be clearer but thankfully there is a stack of videos on youtube.

With the price of bottled water creeping up I decided to try the Soda Stream, I only wish I had bought a lot sooner! Great addition to the kitchen that doesnt take up to much room and gives you fresh sparkling water on tap. Purchased two extra bottles so there is always fresh sparkling water to hand in the fridge. I dont use the flavoured syrups as I prefer the carbonated flavour of the water which I find more refreshing, but the option is there if required. I get my gas refills from Argos which I find really handy. My only critisism is the back cover for exchanging the gas bottle feels a bit flimsy.

First impression out of the box was that the Unit feels light and flimsy. When it came to using it for the first time, It was a little confusing because it looks like it’s not fizzy enough so you add another pump or two and the fizz burns your throat. ( be warned, it’s fizzier than it looks ) The water without added flavour tasted like pure gas. I had a quick look on YouTube to make sure that we were doing everything correctly and we were. The taste was Improved by adding the flavour ( 7up) but goes flat very quickly. Disappointing because I had one of these many many years ago and the quality was much better. Five minute wonder for the kids. Now just another kitchen ornament!

Machine works well, took a while to figure out how to attach the bottle. Apart from that works well

I don't know why it took me so long to order one of these, and reduce my single use plastic consumption by 90% in one purchase. Highly recommended if you like bubbly water (as opposed to wanting mineral water).Easy to use (one tip I got from answered questions was the illustration isn't clear you have to screw the canister in, but once you know that, easy).I like really bubbly water, so 7 presses for a small bottle, 12-13 for a large one, so the canister won't last quite as long. I've read they last 60-100 bottles depending on how fizzy you like your water). So far of left a bottle 24 hours and it has been as fizzy as when made.

Use it at least 3 times a day, just tap water & no added syrups, with slices of lemon & lime.Only issue I had was with exchanging the initial bottle that came with it. No one can exchange it because it doesn’t have the exchange bar code so make sure you also buy a spare gas cylinder 🙂 Biggest plus is much less plastic bottles being used from buying sparkling water.
