Used this for my metal detector rack. Now I can plug my metal detectors in when they need charging.

USB inputs loosened up quickly

Bought two of these April 2020. Now, Jan 2023, one of them has dead USB ports and the other has a dead receptacle. They're well protected and see moderate use. I installed them into a carpeted shelf that sits behind my couch, between the back of the couch and the wall to be used for charging controller batteries and electronic devices. Due to their location, they don't ever see any abuse or any sort of rough interaction, but they certainly didn't last very long before exhibiting diminished performance, especially for the $20/ea I payed for them. When they worked, they were fantastic, though.

Installed into couch with middle seat that folds into a table. Installation requires a bit of ingenuity without damage to fabric. Once in place, an indispensable upgrade to the couch. Love it!! So does every guest!

So, you will need a 2 in hole. Exactly 2 in. There is no room for error here. And if you think 2 1/8 is close enough, you would be wrong. 2 in. no more. It was an easy install.

Odd diameter hole to cut. Had to do a little sanding afterwards, but the power grommet fit and did it job. Be patient with the install. Worth a little extra effort.

Easy install... feels like quality. USB tests perfect.Bought a second.I used some two sided molding tape to keep it square in the hole. Not sure it needed it...

We purchased this to put into the counsel of our loveseat making it easier to charge our phones. It's great! No more long cords for our chargeable products that use usb!

Works perfectly, installation was easy and the outlet is very low profile.

Looks great. I tested the standard outlet before installing and it worked fine. I then cut a 2" hole in my brand new desk, ran the wire through the bundles of hidden wires and zip tied it all in place. Installed exactly I excepted. The problem is my priority for buying this product was to have the usb outlets in a highly accessible place in order to charge devices. Finished the install and found out the USB outlets aren't working. ;/ super disappointing

Update: As I expected, the USB charging ports have completely died, after just a few weeks of purchase. I highly DO NOT recommend this product.Previous: I replaced a defective OEM module in my loveseat. This lacks an on/off switch (as do most of these outlets) however it loses USB power randomly and often (phone chimes as if it is unplugged and then plugged back in). It makes me uneasy about safety and quality. I've only had it for a week or so and it's already problematic.I have not tested the electrical outlet but I may soon. I suspect the transformer or a cap on it is going bad and that it won't last much longer. I would purchase another as its the only one I've seen that mounts well enough in my couch.

Set up at my desk at work. It suits my needs perfectly. Particularly like the easy access to the USB ports for charging my phone or tablet.
