Craftsman 26 Inch 3-drawer Heavy-duty Ball Bearing Middle Chest Black

I like this middle chest and intend on getting a lower (Craftsman) wheeled unit to place it on top. Nice to see a Craftsman tool chest that is made in the US again! I would recommend this seller to others to get their tool chests from.

Price was a little high but it is what it is.

Not a bad middle section for the money. Seller delivered quickly and the item arrived unharmed, which is unusual for thin gage metal boxes.

Another product made in China.Very cheap and mine came with a keyed lock but was hooked up to nothing.I purchased this because the drawers locked as I mounted it in my race trailer.POS....

First of all this 2000 series Craftsman middle chest drawer can be purchased for 79.00 (on sale) though lowes.com. Yes, this same exact Craftsman middle tool chest. I own three larger cabinet and chest Craftsman 2000 series boxes purchased in the last two years that I would highly recommend. However, I cannot say the same for this Craftsman middle tool chest. I recently purchased three of these Craftsman series 2000 middle chest drawers based on my positive past experience with Craftsman series 2000 tool boxes. Aesthetically these Craftsman middle tool chests are fine. No dents or any other visible flaw that would bring attention. The problem is with the drawer slide mechanism. These are soft close drawer slides and the mechanism attached to the back part of the slide does not engage or release the drawer as it is designed to. Not every drawer slide has this issue, but each middle tool chest out of the three I purchased has one or two drawers with this problem. Also, the tolerance with each drawer seems to be skewed. The drawers have more side to side play then my larger 2000 series Craftsman boxes. I can only speculate as to the cause, but it seems as if there is a design or manufacturing error that Craftsman needs to address before putting more of these 2000 series middle chest drawers out into circulation.

It's pretty solid, a bit too expensive for the quality. The drawers work well. No where near as well made as my boxes from the 80's, but it is currently doing the job.
