My item did not work properly - but seller was helpful
The device did not work dependably. It could start charging but if leaving your computer, you may come back to find the battery is less charged than when you left because the charging process stopped on its own. However, seller was apologetic and quickly refunded the cost of the item. The seller also saved me the trouble of having to return the defective item. I probably simply got one that made it through quality control by mistake.

Works, but overheats.

Wierd heating issues
Gets super hot so I put a makeshift heatsink on top of it. Also every time I use the adapter to charge, my MacBook fans start to ramp up. Not sure what is causing it or if it is detrimental to the device. I will keep using it and if anything happens will update this review.

A fire hazard for 87w use?
I received this charger converter yesterday and used it for several hours. Everything seemed to be working fine - it connected to my Magsafe power adapter and then into my USB C Macbook Pro and kept the battery fully charged the entire time. However, at the end of the day when I was done with work, I grabbed the connector to look it over and reroute some cables, and discovered that the dongle itself is INCREDIBLY HOT. Like fire hazard / too hot to touch hot. I'm quite convinced that it will fail after a small # of heat cycles and it's probably a fire hazard too.I'm using a Macbook Pro that requires the 87 watt charger, so this may not apply to machines using only 60w or 45w chargers.I can't say I recommend this solution if you have a new Macbook Pro and are hoping to extend the life of your existing Magsafe adapters. Very disappointed that the product gets so hot - this must have been noticed during product testing, but the description says nothing about the intense heat generated by the dongle.

Works on Apple's Thunderbolt display.
This made it so that I could charge a new MacBook Pro from the Apple Thunderbolt display's Magsafe power supply. My only issue is that the power light on the Magsafe cord doesn't come on. This led to some confusion at first.

Need to have
On the new MacBooks you need connection accesories or your laptop is closed in itself.. need a connector for ethernet, for USB's, etc,, this one works as MagSafe to USB-C Converter....

Worked great until it burnt out
I had no problems with this convertor for a whopping 2 weeks until it would have trouble reconnecting power to my macbook after it had reached 100% once. Now it doesn't even connect power at all. This was my second purchase of this type of converter, the first being from a different manufacturer, but both appear to have very short shelf lives. It's a shame that something so simple as connecting wires between two cords is so difficult for these companies. I'm now resorting to abandoning my magsafe2 collection and purchasing off-brand usbc chargers.

Good idea, poorly built
Seems like there is a loose connection in the device as it does not completely charge the laptop and at times doesn't begin to charge it at all without jiggling the cable portion of the adapter. Also gets very hot when plugged into the MagSafe charger.Overall, not worth the $20 I paid.Update: Now after a few months of very infrequent use it works for about 20 minutes and then turns off. It is absolutely overheating to unsafe temps.
