As a retired automotive repair technician, I am VERY picky about tools. I have seen lots of cheap junk that is not worth owning. I also own some of the best hand tools available in the world. With that said, I am very impressed with these little cutters (I purchased the 4-1/2" version.) I wanted them to use for cutting paracord. Most of the diagonal cutters I have seen would only crush the paracord, not cut it. These are extremely sharp and cut the paracord quickly and cleanly. the joint has absolutely no sideways flex to it, yet the jaws open and close easily with no binding. Nice textured grip material is easy to hold on to. I tried to twist and loosen the grip material (by hand) it didn't budge. (unlike some cheap tools I have encountered) VERY well made tool. I would highly recommend this tool where quality and precision is a must.

I knew that this cutter was not meant for heavier cutting but I thought for sure it would at least cut guitar strings. Wrong. 2 strings, 2 dents in blade. Returning.

These are the perfect size and they feel well built and durable. However, the tip is not aligned as can be seen from the photo and I'm going to try and grind it with a fine grit sandpaper on my belt sander. I'm disappointed because this defect could have easily been detected with a quick visual inspection. It does cut very well using the main cutting surface, just not when trying to do precision cutting using the tip.I gave the first one with the misaligned tips to a friend and then ordered a second one. The second one came with the tips perfectly aligned, so I'm leaving my review at 3 stars.

These cut fine soft wires every time. Nice and sharp. Cuts small wires right at the tip of the cutter. Good for fine electronic work. 4.5 inch is plenty large enough for normal hands.Do not forget that you are using a cutter made for soft copper and try using them like pliers to grab hard metal. If you do, you will be purchasing another cutter like I just had to do. After making this mistake they still cut fine, but not at the very tip.Four stars, five stars is reserved for absolutely exceptional items.

I ordered this for cutting the tread in seed beading work (in my case - FyshFlyer STURDY 4X-PE Braided Fishing Line). It works perfectly but I keep this cutters for this purpose only.

Initially, the blades were very sharp, used for jewelry making, cutting 18- 14 gauge wire. Within 60 days of purchase, blades are misaligned, one noted to be broken at the very tip. Pros: The cutter is comfortable in small female hands, spring action cutting motion very smooth. NOTE: Not recommended for use with memory wire because that wire requires a dedicated cutter (heavy duty, industrial type). Recommend buying locally from a retail department store with a good return policy. Return window with this vendor was only 30 days, regretfully.

Yes, they are made in Japan. Joslin up nicely. They are flush cut. Use them for aviation work. I believe they are going to be a good bang for the buck. My initial impressions are very good.

They look good and arrived sharp. However, they quickly discolored in spots when exposed to marine environments. I can also see a few knicks in the cutting edges which is disappointing. Ive not cut anything that would be expected to have deformed the steel.**EDIT / UPDATE** These totally rusted and are useless. They have never been dipped, or left on the boat. I've been freeing up stuck pliers for my entire life and these have resisted all of my tricks... Very disappointed, as I tied a custom lanyard onto them and sized my pouch to fit them.

cutting edges are too soft...I used it to remove snap buttons on the boat canvas...2 snap and the cutting edge was wrecked...those snaps are not that tough...my son's cutters..same as these only better quality...cuts all day and still sharp without damage...Whizzotech get whizzer...selling this junk

Soft jaws .... already marked up on the cutting edge .... I will order again but use them on soft copper and zip ties
