Full-Figure Fashion: 24 Plus-Size Patterns
Only for the experienced dressmaker, or one keen to try and to learn techniques involved with jersey-type materials. Styles are not at all to my liking, The model on the front page of this book isn't a large size - if I were her size I wouldn't be dieting, I'd be happy and be buying normal sized patterns. If this book is to be successful, I think they should put a fuller figure model (at the very least size 20) on the front, and include patterns that are not just re-jigs of other patterns in the book. Waste of Money!

What I have been waiting for
I had looked into a lot of these multipattern books when I wanted to get one for my teenage daughter and have always been frustrated that few had patterns big enough for me. I was so happy to see this book published that I got it within a month. I am comparing it to Love at First Stitch which I eventually chose for my daughter and Singer Perfect Plus which I won at a sewing meeting. This book has many patterns which I loved at first glance, like La Dolce Vita, a long, flowing summer dress; Vintage Chic, a more classic style dress with a lower neckline that I find flattering; Southwest Charm, a casual blouse long enough to be called a tunic. It has many patterns that look good on my figure type: 68", size 48, broad shoulders with narrow hips. I don't really like the front cover, but there are 23 more patterns including many pencil skirts and pants for different kind of fabrics. The patterns are like the magazines with many overlapping each other on the page and they include the seam allowances. Instructions are very clear to me, an experienced seamstress. Compared to the Perfect Plus book by Singer, these patterns will be easier for me because they are sized for someone who is 66 inches tall whereas Perfect Plus is for 62 inches. Perfect Plus also emphasizes a more professional wardrobe, whereas this book has more variety. The Love at First Stitch has fewer patterns and is aimed at a younger, more petite seamstress who is developing new skills with patterns that become more challenging as the book progresses. At this point I feel that my review is not complete until I have tried a few of the patterns and that will take me months. At this point I am very happy with this book.

Great!
I love this book...its everything I was hoping it would be. I have big boobs, no butt, and thin legs. Im able to use the different sizes to create the perfect-fit. The styles are great. I recommend you read ALL the instructions FIRST before beginning, and measure yourself in detail to find the perfect size for each pattern you use. Also, I purchased a pack of multi colored highlighter pens at Hobby Lobby, for highlighting each pattern I choose in a diff color. It makes it stand out for easier tracing onto tissue paper for cutting. You have to do this once for each pattern. I put my traced and cut patterns in a labeled letter envelope, and keep them all in a larger yellow envelope inside the book for future use. Very simple if you just relax, and TAKE YOUR TIME, being very careful to highlight in detail all the outside lines you need, and mark every instructional detail onto your traced pattern. 👍👍
