For snapshots it's great - not intended for "art"
If you read the various reviews of this product, you will get a good idea of what it does and doesn't do. Basically, if you have a zillion old photos - snapshots, not fine art - pasted into albums and want a relatively quick way to digitize them, this gadget will do it. Attempting to remove pasted-in photos from albums will probably tear them but with this gadget, you leave the photos in place. It's basically a camera in a box that takes a picture of the picture. Even photos in albums in which there was a sticky surface to which the photos adhered with a plastic cover over them are best left in place. Some will have become so stuck to the page that attempting to remove them will cause damage. And if you have color photos that are more than, say, 30 years old, they will start to fade - so you need a quick way to preserve them before they worsen and this gadget is probably your best choice.

Small but mighty!
Got the box...so small, I was concerned. My mother wanted it as a gift, and she is not real savvy in newer technology so I was concerned. She picked it up immediately, and loves working with it!

Update to prior review
I was super excited to get this. Followed the directions to get it up and running. Lights go on, indicators for power and film lit up. Loaded up the slide holder and the image was in the screen and then I pressed the scan button and NOTHING. The display shows scan at 0% and NOTHING. I then went through all the steps of starting up again 3 times with the same results. It’s been very frustrating. I was hoping this product would work.As I was packing it up to return the product I thought I'd try one last thing. I used a different photo card as well as a different power cord. I noticed that the USB wasn't sitting 100% in the device provided and the micro USB wasn't fitting 100% into the photo scanner. I'm not sure which fix corrected my problem but, the device is now working. I'm still only giving it a 3 star rating because the items that came with the scanner were garbage. Now that it's being used, the main inconvenience is that the slide bar in the front between photo and film slides too easily and has to be corrected while working on your scanning.

Great idea for viewing negatives
I have hoards of negatives that I wanted to put on disc. My father recently passed so I was looking for pictures and came across a lot of negatives in his things. I did try it with one negative to make sure it works, it does. I did not try the save to thumb drive feature yet but it is not rocket science.

Be prepared for the long haul
This digitizer works just fine for the 4x6 prints I have tested it with. I have not yet tested it with the 110 and 126 negatives, but I suspect it will work fine. The instructions for usage are clear and unambiguous. I have a mountain of prints to digitize so I am steeling myself for the long haul because I can only digitize one print at a time - takes about 10 seconds in aggregate. So multiply 10 seconds by 1000 prints and that is the task.

old photos curl
You get a lot for the money but it is tiresome manual process if you have a lot of photos and you need to back-curl photos to get them to lay flat and not distorted image. A curled image will also reflect the two rows of LEDs that light up the image. If the image is flat, that is not an issue. So I would have wished to have a way to make the image flat besides my back-curling them. But I am happy that all these photos are now on-line on my computer rather in envelopes in boxes in the garage.

Not the Quality we needed
We returned this. We have many slides to scan. This machine made the process cumbersome. You can scan directly to a card but then you have to stop and restart to copy from card to the computer. The Slide display screen on the machine is small and makes it difficult to see any adjustments to the slide.

Well worth it
Very easy and anyone can use it. Love being able to save very old negatives of 110 and 35 mm and more. Can view the SD card right on the device too. The shipping box is the right height to put the device on so I don't strain my neck looking into the screen.

The photo scanner works reasonably well, but don't expect too much from it
I bought this primarily to digitize old 35mm slides. I've completed about 10 rolls so far. The Magnasonic All-in-One does a reasonable job of converting the slides to digital format. It's hard to know if the quality of the digital images could be better with a better device, but it may well be that my slides (which date back to the 70s) have perhaps faded a little over the years. In any case, it does the job and is relatively easy to use. I also tested it with 4x6 photos and it works reasonably well with that format too. Build-wise, it's a little flimsy for the price. Overall, I would recommend it if you want to convert old slides and photos to digital format.

Use a flatbed scanner instead
This item is grossly overpriced for what you get. I ended up getting flatbed scanner instead. I would say that it was a complete waste of money but the negative holders were very useful. The resolution of the scanner was very low & it was temperamental with negative scanning, particularly colour.I would try to dissuade anyone from buying one.

Felt very cheap in quality.
I needed to view hundreds of negatives and found they didn't fit into the slides easily. The screen was very small and didn't want to upload poor quality negatives to find out, too time consuming. You can't really get a clear view.

Awesome
Does very awesome job! Scanned old slides and very easy to use and clear nice digital image. You can adjust the brightness of your pictures which is a must on the old slides.
