They def strike anything. Maybe too well.
So the amazon delivery guy said he dropped the matches and lit on fire. He was trying to put out the smoke before the alarm would go off. The matches were completely toasted and even the package caught fire.

Boy these aren't the matches we would get 40 years ago.
Hard to light, break alot. You really need to use the match box. Couldn't light on my blue jeans and it had a hard time using the zipper of my pants. I used to be able to take my thumb nail and stike it on the edge and light match sticks with one hand. Those were the good old days. Oh, if you think these are four inches long they are not. The box is four inches long the matches are just a hair bigger than the old match box matches in days of old. I will not buy them again.

They work! But I use a scratch pad.
The media could not be loaded. They work. Using a scratch pad is the guarantee. Strong, don’t break while striking.

Not the quality of yesteryear
I grew up with the old red top version of these that you could light on your jeans, like in the old cowboy movies. Those one always worked great. These do not do those justice and though I am glad to have them doe my every day carry, I will not buy again. Too expensive for what you get. I long for yesteryear quality more and more these days.

They work, mostly.
They work as advertised, strike anywhere. That is the ones that actually have the phosphorous on the tip. There's been a surprisingly high amount of matches with no phosphorous, which still work on a standard match strike, but i bought these so I would have to use a match box to strike them. I'd say so far about 25% have had no phosphorus on them. This is no doubt a problem on Diamond's endand not the seller that's why ive given 4 stars.

The manufacturer meant "strike anywhere on the strip on the box."
It isn't really strike anywhere unless the manufacturer meant "strike anywhere on the strip on the box." It doesn't work very well. We have a hard time getting the matches lit, on rough surfaces or on the strip on the box. This is a disappointing purchase.

Work almost anywhere
These are definitely strike almost-anywhere matches. I’ve tried them on a few different surfaces and they have not disappointed. This type of match, although they used to be the standard, are hard to find locally now. They are a little expensive but given how often I’ll need them (not very) and the convenience when I do I think they are work the price overall.

They strike
It's matches they do what they are suppose to do. I'm just happy I found strike anywhere matches because they're impossible to find these days
