Best Sharpener
I bought this pencil sharpener 6 years ago for $14 at Costco. I was thrilled when it lasted over 6 years as that was a fantastic value. Very durable yet lightweight and the size can easily be stored in a cupboard, drawer or desktop. I was bummed I couldn’t find a replacement that plugged in, so I had to purchase the battery operated one. I received it today, and I actually received three for the price of one. Hoping someone will reach out to me if this is a shipping error. I don’t want bad karma, but I couldn’t find an email to correspond with shipper directly. Great value if I am getting 3 for the price of 1, but not so great that I have to buy batteries. Either way this brand and sharpener are fantastic and I hope this one has the same life as the first one purchased years ago.

Works Like a Dream
This is a sharpener recommended by my favorite greeting card designer, who also has her own product line. I bought the sharpener that requires batteries as I could use it anywhere. It sharpens to a sharp point in literally a couple of seconds. I had to watch a video to understand how to empty the shavings, but once you know how it’s easy. It doesn’t hold a lot of shavings, so you do need to empty it frequently. It also requires 4 AA batteries. Since I just received it, I can’t report on the length of battery life. I would highly recommend this product.

Affordable and reliable pencil sharpener
While it may be small, this pencil sharpener sure packs a punch. An amazing pencil sharpner which is capable of sharpening colored pencils and has an auto stop feature to prevent oversharping, a feature normmally only found in higher priced pencil sharpeners. The only downside About this sharpener is that you have to empty it out often due to the small storage space. Compared to sharpeners at this price I would consider it the best due to the fact that it has auto stop. I would recommend the sharpner to anyone who is need of a affordable but reliable sharpener.

Sharp points but grabs wood
I bought the plug-in version of this a couple years ago and love it. Finally - sharp points! I bought this battery-powered one for our colored pencils It also sharpens pencils nicely, but it grabs onto the wood in a weird way. While sharpening, you have to hold on tightly to the sharpener and the pencil so that it doesn’t spin. (Very tricky with short pencils.) You get a nice sharp point, but it sometimes eats at the wood so the point sticks out a bit. This seems to happen more to the colored pencils than regular ones. (We use a large variety of colored pencils, not just the ones shown here.) With colored pencils, we get a lot of broken tips stuck in the sharpener - that’s the nature of colored pencils. The lead inside breaks easily when they’re dropped. One of the benefits of this sharpener is that although it won’t sharpen any pencils when there’s a piece stuck in it, it’s fairly easy to fix. The clear part and the sharpener are easily disassembled so you can access the broken tip. Overall, this sharpener does the job, and I’m satisfied with it, if slightly disappointed that it doesn’t sharpen the wood as smoothly as its electric counterpart. (Although maybe the quality of those have changed as well.)

Awesome battery sharpener, although a lot smaller than expected. A friend of mine bought one and loved it, so I decided to get one too, but hers is much, much bigger than the one I received. Otherwise, same design and name. Weird. I have expensive artist colored pencils that I am terrified to put into any old sharpener, afraid they will chew them up to nothing and still not leave a good point, but this sharpener will only need 1-2 seconds of your pencils time to spiffy it up. Its equally as good for my kids' Crayola pencils. I'm glad I bought it! Titanium Bonded blades stay sharper longer • Features auto sensor shut off • Includes EZ-view shaving reservoir • Innovative new design • Manufacturer's limited one-year warranty

I Love It
I bought one of these a few years back and totally love it! It sharpens pencils fast, easy to use and easy to empty. Also, the batteries you use in it last a "very" long time. RECENTLY .. I purchased another one for my Daughter who had been very ill and bed ridden for quite awhile . I got it for her to sharpen her colored pencils she used in her Adult Coloring Book of Mandalas I got her to help her take her mind off things while being ill. She loves it also.

Nope, nope, nope
This sharpener has been absolute garbage from the moment I opened the package. Worthless. The blade doesn't cut, it grabs. Thus it takes a herculean effort to hold both the pencil and the sharpener for it to rotate. Every lead breaks off in the sharpener and I've had to open it up, per pencil, to dig out the stuck lead. It eats pencils like candy because there is no such thing as the auto-stop working on this one. Surely this is a defective product because it seems asinine to produce such a sharpener as a workable product. I have a 20yr old pencil sharpener that my son used when he was in elementary school that works better than this. This is the last Wescott product I'll every buy.

Used by students at our school
There are two sizes that this product comes in. Depending on whether it is for personal use or, for frequent use, as in our case, will determine the size you should purchase. The larger one does not have to be emptied as frequently. Otherwise, it’s a good quality electric pencil sharpener.

This sharpener is superb to use. It is very quick to sharpen graphite pencils or colouring pencils and I have not had a broken point yet. Very simple to empty, just unscrew the top, take off the cylinder and empty into the bin. My first one I did have to return as the connection between blades and motor was not correct, but I have not had any issues with my current one and use it every day. However, for some reason it is delivered in a brown paper bag which to be honest seems inadequate protection. No hesitations to recommend this sharpener.

Product selected after extensive research for the best sharpener for colored pencils (those which my kids use at school), and purchased despite the high cost (about 20 euros) being imported from the States. After having sharpened about 15 pencils now the "head" which is supposed to sharpen "skips" whenever I insert a pencil to sharpen, and as a matter of fact it does not work.
