This gate opener is quality built, and easy to install. I installed myself, had a small issue with one of my connections and contacted support and they were quick to reply to get the issue resolved. Would definitely recommend for price, quality and customer support.

Was a bit of a pain to install. Went to try and engage the 90 degree lock key and would not go back into gear. After disassembly I found the issue and got gate working again. Mounted it with u bolts but they still slide a bit so I'll be drilling the gate bar eventually. Main problem I had is the solar controller is definitely not waterproof. Found a way to mount the board with a single screw and double sided tape. We'll see how this works out. Also you will need some wire nuts or butt joints to connect the solar controller in as well as a short jumper wire if using two 12v batteries to get the 24v. Opener is pretty slow but that was to be expected with a budget opener. I have a 16' single gate. Overall they include most hardware you need. Including a few wire nuts, a jumper wire and a round gate mount would make it so much better. Also a battery box would have saved me $60 off the other guys plastic box. The mounting kit is included for the solar panel and long bolts are included for your main post mount. They included decent hardware just wish they'd spent the extra $5 to have everything you need except batteries in the kit. Most of the kit seems to be pretty decent quality including the remotes. They also include extra batteries for the remotes and a nice instruction manual. Be careful if you are using the power adapter (seperate purchase) as you wire differently than solar only. Most people will use solar only which is the second wiring diagram in the manual. Tools you need are a couple of large c clamps (not a definite requirement but very helpful), drill, wrenches, wiring crimp tool with 6 small butt connectors, short piece of wire, 6 exterior screws to mount box and solar panel mount to post, roll of double sided tape, and to tidy things up some wire clips are nice. Attached is a photo of the solar controller board in the box and how I mounted it to keep it from making any contact with other board.

This product works very well for us on the front gate of our ranch. We were able to mount it on a round wooden post with ease. The remote control has a range of about 100ft. We've had no problems with it so far. Will update if problems are encountered. We are pleased with our purchase.

I built a 6' X14' gate out of 22ga tubing, then sided it with cedar 6" pickets. The gate is hinged with 7" barrel hinges. Operates smooth but never consistently. It acts up doesnt work all the time, blows fuses left and right. The operation of the opener is great only on a calm weather day and then it acts up and only opens partially or will open then when you go to close it it latches then kicks back open. In the wind the operator will not work, so you have to help it open by walking the gate open with your hands. I would not recommend this opener to anyone who had a privacy gate. It only good for metal open face panel gates. I have had nothing but problems with this junk.

I purchased my Topens A8S Solar Gate Opener for my 16' front metal gate for the front of my property from Amazon in December 2021.I had run into some personal issues while not being very mechanical to figure things out. I decided to email customer support and to my surprise the very next morning I had a reply email back from Shelley, a member from the customer support team.She has really been a lifesaver with her rapid responses and right-on tactical solutions. She also assured me that my gate opener has a 12 month warranty on all parts. She figured out that I may have had a faulty solar charger control box and in two days I had received and installed it and now no problems.I liked that the instructions were pretty clear and so are the on-line installment videos.My neighbor has one from another manufacturer and he was very impressed with mt A8S, he commented on the ease to adjust the arm control with taking the arm off and just using the disconnect key that comes with it. Also the 2 key ring controls that he had to purchase separately for his product.All in all I'm very pleased with the purchase of my A8S and would recommend it to anyone and especially for the incredible CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM, having Shelley in my corner during the process was a relief.

Directions are good and the install was successful without tech assistance. With that said, me being an electrical engineer definitely helped. I reviewed the instructions several times prior to attempting the install. Once installed, it works great and I would recommend the product to others.

I had problems getting it to work correctly. The customer service worked with me until I realized that I was the reason it wasn’t working correctly. Switched a position on a slide switch and it worked. Works great. Glad I bought this one
