The media could not be loaded. This granite mortar and pestle set was a terrific purchase. It is sturdy, durable and turns 10 of my horse's large stomach medication pills into powder in less than 30 seconds (please see video; I wasn't able to upload the full 30 seconds but you'll at least get an idea). The powder is easily poured out and the granite cleans up nicely. The set is beautiful and decorative as well! While the interior of the mortar and end of the pestle are unpolished in order to be effective tools, the outside and length are polished to a lovely shine. We will be using this to grind up other things. I can't believe we didn't buy this sooner; would definitely purchase again.

Excellent pill pulverizer! Better than the pill crushers I've used before, those plastic and metal ones don't match up! I used to work in a pharmacy where the pharmacist was also a compounder and he would always use the good old fashioned mortar and pestle, which is why I purchased it. Been using it to pulverize my dogs meds, and then mix the fine powder into their food! No trouble at all, takes seconds to pulverize the pills/tablets, and easy to clean! Very well made and solid too.

I was rather skeptical at first when i got this product because of the circular ridges inside but as it turned out it was the best idea ever! I bought this for my husband's pills that were impossible to crush. I had tried various models but none worked better than this. I did arrive quickly and of course it's granite so I know it's going to last. Very very pleased.

We bought it for someone who can't swallow pills whole, but we wanted something that looked pretty cool, too, because who would buy someone just a pill crusher for a birthday present. There's seems to be a certain fascination about mortar and pestles because everybody was playing with it at the party. This one's sturdy and aesthetic, and I heard mention that they're going to try muddling mint leaves with it to make mojitos, and to smash up avocados.

I bought this to crush pills. It does grind very well but personally I don't like it for pills. Once crushed the powder gets into the pores of the stone and you lose medicine. I am sure this would work well for herbs. I don't recommend for pill crushing though.

I use it for everything from burns to pills spices

when I can't get capsules that are easier to swallow; large pills are hard for me to swallow, so I use this to crush and grind to a powder. Powder is put into empty capsule and capped til locked and used to take capsules that I can swallow. capsules are better for me than large pills.

Because of an illness, I had to use a feeding tube to eat since I could not swallow. I needed something that could crush pills to a fine powder so I could add to water and get it through the feeding rube. This did it job compared to the cheap plastic thing I had bought at a pharmacy.
