Beautiful cookware and cooks evenly
This is one gorgeous piece of cookware. I've cooked with stainless steel, but nothing of this quality. It's thick, heavy, and heats evenly. While using the pot this evening for caramelizing onions, I noticed I didn't need to rearrange the onions from cooler spots to warmer ones, something I do normally without even thinking about it. From the edges to the center, everything cooks evenly. And the weight of the pot helps keep it from moving around while stirring and working with even light weight ingredients. There is no lid included, which would have made an outstanding pot even better. The matching lid is available but sold separately. These casserole pots are sold in both a one handle and two handle design, in a variety of sizes, and there are also matching lids available for them all. So if the 18cm size is smaller than you're looking for, Mepra does make several other sizes. The Mepra 1950 casserole pots are dishwasher safe, but so far I've been hand washing mine. I love bright stainless steel finish and want to keep it looking new as long as possible, so I'm hand washing and then drying it off to keep water spots from drying on the shiny surface. There is no non-sick material anywhere in this. So when it's time to clean up, if anything sticks I just let the pot soak in hot water for a few minutes and it will help with anything stuck. I've found Dawn Platinum Power Clean works really well for stainless steel cookware since it's specifically made for dissolving stuck and burnt on foods and I've been using in on my Mepra casserole pot with great results. The Mepra 1950 line of casserole cookware is not cheap, but you can feel the quality the first time you pick one of them up. They're beautiful, weighty and they cook evenly and wonderfully!

Gorgeous pot
This is a heavyweight, beautifully designed, and incredibly crafted casserole dish. It says that it can be used on different cooking surfaces. Four different are pictured on the bottom.I have read more than I have ever needed to know about stainless steel recently, trying to understand the composition of this pot and what I have basically learned is just but 18/10. I admit to never having given stainless steel a lot of thought before and that was my mistake. Mepra is already teaching me a lot about quality cookware. Now I didn’t want to actually cook a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. in this pot. N.o.t.h.i.n.g. at all. Ever. But I did. I found a baked chicken recipe on Damn Delicious that involved lots of garlic, potatoes, and cream sauce. I would post the link but I started changing things as soon as I opened my refrigerator. The recipe called for thighs and I went breasts…basically I made a mess with parmesan garlic and two chicken breasts that fit perfectly in this pan.Did I mention that it is small?Clean up was easy but I obsessed with it. I didn’t want anything messing with my beautiful and perfect pot.

Unique pan..soup or casserole for two
So far I love this pan. The style is unique and it has an elegant look. It's small and seems deeper than a casserole pan should. 18cm is approximately 7 inches wide. And the height is 4 inches. The interior has markings that show full capacity is 2 liters. I have many pans but nothing this size so I am happy to add it to my arsenal.I have contacted the company to find out where to purchase the lids, because a casserole dish should have a lid, well most pans need lids.I love the look of this pan and it's fairly heavy, similar to an All-Clad but the handles are not riveted on like an All-Clad; the attachment point has no rivets and hence they are attached some other way that is not visible. The lip on the pan makes it attractive and easy to pour from.If this had a lid, this would make a nice soup pot for two, I'm thinking clam chowder or french onion soup. Actually it does remind me of an old-fashioned, elegant soup pot.I will post back if I have any issues with the interior but it's stainless steel so I can't imagine having any issues. It looks like a quality pan and I have many pans, such as All-Clad, Cuisinart Multi-Clad Pro pans, etc.

Attractive, Heavy Duty, Missing A Lid
This Mepra 1950 Casserole with Handle, 18cm, Stainless Steel akdjsa; a;jas;fdja; fa fdsaljf;aThis Mepra 1950 Casserole is high end. It’s made of highest grade stainless steel (18/10) and has big, sturdy handles and a thick, heavy bottom. For looks, it gets 5 stars, easy. Not so for function. It has no lid. Lids commonly come with casseroles, otherwise it's just a pan to me. The inside is scored at the 1 and 2 litre marks, a nice touch, but not real relevant in a household like ours that uses USC measurements (pint, quart, gallon, etc). As a serving vessel, it’s beautiful, although it’s on the small side, holding right around eight cups. Over all, I think I'll definitely find good uses for this pan, but probably not to make casseroles.

No lid, but dishwasher safe!
My only complaint is that it does not come with a lid. But I have a couple lids in my collection that will fit it (although not perfectly). The fact that this is dishwasher safe makes up for that though. So many pots are not these days, and to find one that is is really fantastic. The pot can also go in the oven, as well as the stove top which is another huge win. It's got versatility going for it. Nice large handles can be gripped easily... even with oven mitts on.The pot is what I consider mid-sized at two liters. Great for sauces and things like that. It's very high quality, and you can tell just by holding it. Has nice weight to it.

Simple, elegant design and high quality construction...
This 18 cm "casserole" will do double duty both on the stovetop and in the oven. Its construction is all stainless steel, and it is beautifully machined inside and out.Cookware is similar to other tools: you really do get what you pay for, and I expect a long service life from this casserole. It's overall look is so elegant that it can easily take on a third function, and not be out of place: I'll be happy to bring this to the table as a serving dish...that's how good it looks.Really nice cookware; select with confidence.
