Safety Turtle Swimming Pool Alarm w/ Green Wristband

Good product, works well and is important for contributing to the safety of kids near pools. I recommend it, but it should only be one component of an overall safety strategy. The home should also have a fence or pool cover. This is a good precaution, but I feel that without a fence or pool cover it only provides a 75% solution to my worries as a parent.

I should have listened to other reviewers who said this didn't include the wristband. Even though it clearly states "Pool alarm with wristband" and shows the wristband in the picture, it does NOT come with a wristband and is, therefore, useless. Do NOT get ripped off by this. I immediately returned it, and Amazon fully refunded the purchase.

We tested this prior to using it for our three year old grandson. When submerged in water in one half of the pool the alarm worked perfectly. However, when we submerged it in water in the other half of the pool the alarm went off AFTER the wristband was removed from the pool. We tried relocating the base to several spots and several heights but were never successful and it continued to go off after the wristband was removed from the pool. I will be attempting to return it.

This product works great and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a child that loves water, but is not water safe. I purchased this product because we have a pool. I was unsure if a floating pool alarm would work because our pool has an odd shape, and i was unsure if it would detect motion depending on the location of the devise if our child were to fall in. We have gates around the pool with locks, but you can never be too safe. We have also forgotten to empty bathtubs and our child has climbed back in when we were not looking! I do think one flaw is that the bracelet should be long enough to go around the child's ankle because the alarm will go off if you get the devise wet while washing his/her hands. It should also come with two keys so if you are at the park you can leave a key in your purse and take off the bracelet while playing in mud or sand. Be careful my child figured out he could take off the devise with a screwdriver at 21 months! Boy do I have my hands full! Again, this product does work wonderfully and I highly recommend it to anyone.

We put up a pool fence with self closing gate but wanted another layer of protection for our 2 year old. This is expensive but would be worth it if it worked flawlessly. We decided on this over the PoolGuard PRGM2 but maybe should of done the opposite.It gives us peace of mind and our daughter likes to wear her "turtle watch," but it has flaws. The locking latch on the strap relies on friction and I foresee the strap fraying from putting it through the small opening twice a day and the latch eventually wearing out. It is already getting hard after 3 weeks to put the strap through the opening.Also, the alarm has decided to go off twice in the last week in the middle of the night. It is when the alarm station is on and the turtle wristband is sitting right next to it for many hours, and then for some reason it decides to wake us up at 3am. Not cool, turtle watch.Amazon is cool with exchanging it for another one. If that doesn't solve our problem we'll try out the PoolGuard.UPDATE: The manufacturer email me this to stop the alarm going off in the middle of the night, we will try it:1. Unplug from the AC outlet in the wall2. Unplug adapter from the Safety Turtle base.3. Remove the baby turtle in the front of the base.4. Wait a minute or two5. Replace baby turtle into front of base...should click in.6. Plug adapter into the bottom of the base.7. Plug adapter into the wall.8. You will get a green light..DO NOT push half moon button...system is now armed.The lady said to never hit the moon button, which the instructions tell you to use every day to test it.

I love the Safety Turtle for my grandchildren; it provides one more layer of protection for my visiting toddlers. Not only is it functional, it's fun to wear. My grandkids love putting their turtles on. The system works very well - the alarm is loud and quick to sound if the wristband comes in contact with any water source (including my salt water pool). Highly recommend this product for added piece of mind!

One would think with a title like "Safety Turtle Base Station and Green Wrist Band Combo" with the actual words "and Green Wrist Band" even describing the COLOR of the wristband, it might actually INCLUDE the wristband. But this is not the case. I feel very much tricked by this seller. If I didn't need this product ASAP I would have taken the time to return it and buy the actual "combo." Combo - another word used in the name of the product. Combo of what? Combo is short for combination. The description reads Base Station AND Wrist Band COMBO as in you get both. It only comes with the base!!!! So ridiculous. This seller knows exactly what he/she is doing. I would not trust this seller to buy any product from. Buyer beware!
