I know that any computer can provide you with an infinite number of calligraphy fonts and make it easy, but there is no substitute for the satisfaction of producing a beautiful item done in calligraphy by your own hand. This set is great for the beginner and has what you need to get started. It came to me very securely packaged, has a good variety of styles and sizes of nibs, 3 straight nib holders, 4 jars of an easy flowing ink (black, blue, red and green) and a pen holder well, all of which is provided at a very reasonable price. You open the box and the first thing on top is a card with instructions on how to remove the oil film that is put on the nibs by the manufacturer which is exactly what you need to do before you use the nibs. I was a little surprised that there was no literature or engraving on the nibs that identified which type and size they are nor was there any information about cleaning them in between uses, but there are plenty of websites that give detailed information on those items. After you get the basics down you will want to go on to more professionally manufactured supplies (which are, of course, much more expensive), but this is a great set for learning and having fun.

My daughter has award badges for using an app for different languages and Japanese is one of them that she likes to write out and draw because it helps with the memory process. The "Trustela Calligraphy Set For Beginners" is perfect for her and helps her study and learn so much better. Great product and would recommend.

I am just foraying into the fountain pen, calligraphy art. I am trying to learn the pen and wash technique with watercolor. I bought this as a beginner. I am happy with the set. I have a lot of fun trying out the different nibs. The nibs are easily changed. They are of good quality. Write on!!!

I just started my new hobby in Calligraphy. Opening this set, I was instantly transported back to high school art class where I first learned the art of hand lettering. I'd say the quality is comparable to what I used in high school. I have purchased better nibs since and there is a clear difference. However, for the price of this kit, and for the variety of nibs that you get to try, it is worth the cost.

I got this as a gift for my friend that loves calligraphy. It seems like a very comprehensive kit. It has everything you might need as a beginner.

I’ve dabbled with brush pens, which were great for getting the basics down. I tried the varieties of prefilled pens as well. These were my first attempt with dip calligraphy pens that have replaceable nibs and I was very pleased worth how well each one wrote. This has made me very excited to try each nib and to expand my calligraphy experience. I think it’s a really great option for a beginner looking for a variety of nibs to test and find a preference for.

The pens that come with this set are nice. But the ink is terrible. Very thin doesn’t even go on paper. Now I have to find better quality ink to purchase.

Would have given 5 stars if the box had not come damaged. Not a good thing when you want to make a present to give a "broken" box even though the content is very good.
