if you want the real deal this is what you buy to make real Italian sauce. It's all I use. Quality: These tomatoes are the best. Thickness: they are think and make a rich sauce Texture: there are no tomatoes who can say what plane or row the tomato came from. These are Italy finest and you can't grow them here in the states they don't take the same..

Every can severely damaged, compromising the seals and risking contamination. No bueno

I was hesitant to make this purchase because of the numerous reviews about dented cans and short expiration dates. I took a chance and ordered 9 cans. They were delivered the next day in perfect condition. Each can was individually wrapped in bubble wrap and placed inside a box. That box was placed in another box. Every can was perfect and the expiration date is 2 yrs out. I used a couple of cans to make a Bolognese sauce over the weekend. The tomatoes were beautiful. They were red, ripe, whole, and had great flavor. I highly recommend this product.

Last time the cans were individually wrapped in bubble wrap and then protected with an addition layer of bubble wrap in the shipping box. There were a couple of small dents in two cans on that shipment. This time they came in just the cardboard box. Result was about the same. I have become accustomed to a few dented cans from both La Valle and others when special ordering tomatoes. The quality of the tomatoes is excellent. I have yet to be disappointed with this product.

Half case very dented hav to discard very disappointed

For some reason, instead of selling a case of 12, they cut up the case after removing 3 cans to make a 9 pack. A large amount of tape is placed on the box to make it fit the 9 remaining cans, then it's put in another box for shipping! Otherwise the tomatoes are fine.
