No, it will not unlock with geosphere or any other locating device. You must use the app.

"with nest connect" sounds like the nest connect hub is included. yes or no?

The nest HUB is not included. Nest connect is the ability to connect with other nest connect accessories that all use the nest phone app. They are running a special right now (home depot); where if you order a nest hello video doorbell (approx. 229) they are giving a free Nest Connect Hub (the smaller one worth $129). The nest hub is a device that connects to the internet where you can watch youtube videos, listen to songs, display as a digital phone frame, view the temperature/time and displays video captured by nest devices such as the video doorbell, security cameras and alerts - also displays other things.

The Nest website says it’s for “indoor use only”. Is that right? We can’t use it for the outside doors? It’s not water/weather proof?

The keypad side is good for outdoor use. The other side is only rated for indoor use, so you would not want to use it for a gate.

Has anyone tried putting on a security door?

It depends on the security door. Different doors have different configurations. If you're putting one of these on a Home Depot special I would question the wisdom of doing so because of the layout, but a custom security/heavy screen door might work perfectly fine.
