Decent quality camera. You need to use closed loop auto focus, because there is variation from unit to unit from fixed-focus control command to actual focus distance. Otherwise a very versatile camera module.

Easy Auto-Focus Upgrade to the Raspberry Pi Camera
This camera module is a welcomed upgrade from the default Raspberry Pi Camera v2. Once the old module was replaced, I expected some kind of necessary configuration and setup but out-of-the-box, the camera worked. The bonus features of auto-focus required some setup, but the functionality without any extra setup matched that of the default camera module.The example auto-focus demo used a simple python script but used OpenCV and some pretty intense Sobel calculations to determine the best focal-distance. Depending on your application, this auto-focus feature might be a little too taxing. Overall the replacement camera module fulfills it’s job of providing an auto-focus capability to the stock Raspberry Pi camera.

It's a definite improvemet
This is a definite improvement over the standard lens that comes with the PI camera module. The ability to control focus via the GPIO is amazing. My only complaint with this is that when it's connected, it sits about 5mm further down the board then the original one does so it doesn't line up with factory mounts.

Great upgrade to the Raspberry Pi ver 2 camera
This is a direct plug in replacement for the camera module on the Raspberry pi camera. It’s main advantages are it’s easier to focus and can accept different focal length lenses. As far as picture quality I could not detect a significant improvement over the standard camera module assuming both are focused correctly. This module does have a larger lens so it may work better in low light conditions. Nice well constructed product.

Does not sit center so off the shelf mounts don’t work
Review for the Autofocus lens. The tab is a bit longer than the tab on the V2 camera so this new lens DOES NOT sit center - a lot if stock camera mounts do not close properly because this lens sits higher and off center. I haven’t had a chance to actually use it yet

Nice auto focus camera for my bird box
I setup a bird camera using my raspberry pi and the standard camera was OK, but because it had the fixed focus most of the birds were out of focus. I bought this auto focus camera and with a little programming I was able to improve my pictures. Not all birds are fully in focus (they move too quick) but overall they are much better.There was a little bit of work to setup the hardware and software, but nothing too challenging if you have done stuff with Raspberry Pis in the past.

Work as a drop in replacement, field of view as advertised
EDIT: I was wrong; when running the camera through python I see a 175 degree field of view. Earlier, I was testing using raspivid in the command line, which showed a much smaller field of view.Was an easy replacement for the stock Pi camera; no issues getting this one to work. However, it definitely does not give me a 175 degree field of view, closer to 110-120 degrees.

Autofocus works great, the picture quality is poor.
The autofocus is excellent, the photo quality is low - still as poor as the camera it replaced, like a late aughts camera phone picture. Very easy to install - you do need to make sure you get the original RasPi camera. Pretty happy with it but would like to see a better camera option for the Pi.

Rapsberry Pi Camera V2のセンサーレンズユニットを取り外し、置き換える形の製品です。ラズパイで遊んでいる人であれば、置き換え自体は至極簡単だと思います。残念ながら、置き換えるだけでオートフォーカスになるわけではなく、画面の明瞭度が最高になるよう、アダプティブにフォーカス操作を行えばAFできます、というものです。python+OpenCVのサンプルがgithubにあがっています。それにしても、被写体から3.5cmでもちゃんとピント合わせられるのはうれしい誤算です。

Only the lens without the green pcb board is delivered
Very pissed.I bought this thnking it will come with the green pcb board and the cable as shown on the product page but only the lens is delivered. I dont know where to buy the pcb board as the connector is slightly larger than the rpi v1.3 board.
