Morning and Evening: Classic KJV Edition Hardcover – May 1, 1991

I absolutely adore this devotional... I don't know how I ever lived without it! Charles Spurgeon relays in such clarity, the foundations of our faith as written in the Bible and breaks it down with sophistication. Each devotional is written in such a manner as to make the reader actually think and meditate on the words written, to ponder and reflect on ones spiritual state. This devotional is sure to be a blessing, delivering encouragement, conviction, and expansion on the Word of the Lord in real world terms that any Christian can understand. You may not be an intellectual, but this will certainly make you think deeply about your life and where you're headed. In my opinion, this is an essential to my daily walk with Christ Jesus and I am sooooo thankful that I made this purchase!

I had been reading these on line but then decided to purchase the book so I could read them off line. Nice quality hardback cover and paper. I wasn't going to make notations in it because it's such an attractive book and wonderful writings, but then I changed my mind and started making notations after all. I typically read the morning and periodically read the evening writings. Great pieces of wisdom and direction for walking in faith. I find the readings so very timely in my life. Sometimes I question some of the things Spurgeon says, but that gets me to looking up things and learning more about faith and walking in faith. This book is in the original writing of Spurgeon, no commentary or changes that I know of.

My husband gave this book to each of our six sons before he was called to his heavenly home. He read it over each year. I am continuing his tradition by giving a copy to each grandchild, niece, nephew, and friend at Christmas, birthdays etc. It never goes 'out of style and continues to encourage my reading of the Word..

This book is a gift for a young lady in our church. My prayer is that she will read these devotions and grow closer to the Lord. Here's a little summary of the book---each devotion is dated so one can start reading anytime and read 2 devotions each day of the year, each devotion provides meditation on a scripture reference that is given at the beginning of each devotion, portions of scripture are taken from every book of the Bible, the devotions are short and easily can be read in about 5-10 minutes, a subject and scripture index are, also, included at the end of the book. I believe Charles Spurgeon's insight and counsel in this book is as relevant today as it was in his day.

I am reviewing the softbound version where front image shows cloudsand with a text 'Morning and Evening Classic KJV Edition'.Devotional content seem to be in order. But the editor forgot to add the day number.Content are divided by Chapter where chapter represent a month and day (AM/PM)Please also take note this 'book' is huge. Like a college manual.

This is a fantastic book for those who are mature and wanting a close, spiritual relationship with God. It makes you think and it is most inspiring for those with an open heart and a ready mind. Buckle up. Get it and GROW. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. My daughter gave me a hard copy. I wanted this Kindle version on my tablet so I can access it anytime, any place...less to carry since I have a KJV bible downloaded on my tablet as well. :) Enjoy and be BLESSED. Spurgeon's writings are life altering.

I just bought the $2+ Kindle edition to complement my hardcover copy, a gift received many years ago. I live reading from this book, whether daily or otherwise. I've marked family birthdays and sometimes read those ... and try annually. The days/dates are clearly marked and also easy to find on each months calendar numbersAn uplifting, gracious, intelligent, and reluable treasure!

I love Spurgeon and His God given Devotional writings. Your price is very reasonable for a well made product.

The simplicity and yet depth of Spurgeon is amazing. If you are a Christian you will be uplifted,taught, encouraged and challenged. If you are not then the same is still true. His love of Jesus shines through and although written in the 19thcentury it is still fresh in the 21st. For Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. Bless His holy name!!

The smell of good books wafts from the box when you open it. Spurgeon has a way with words that make you want to read.

Since a friend gifted this to me in hardback this was an obvious choice for my travels.
