So comfortable and easy to use
My cocker spaniel, who is very easy going, has to wear a collar for 10 days minimum after an ear operation. The hard plastic collar provided by the vet was extremely difficult to put on/take off (especially as so near his ear wound) which of course we have to do so that he can eat and drink. He needs to sleep in a collar too. I tried several types (previously) and was also given a click on collar by vet but both types were both uncomfortable, hindered his vision and also seemed to hurt his operation site when he bumped into things (which is unavoidable). So firstly this collar is light in weight, soft but stays ridged when walking around, allows him to lie down and have padding to lie on, and can be removed easily for eating and drinking. Yes the velcro is loud to remove but if it wasn't strong it would disconnect. We bought size 5 as he does not need it to be so deep for this wound - if he had a leg issue or somewhere he could reach with his mouth then I would need to buy the deeper cone which would obviously protude more. He is now almost one week into wearing this and is completely happy with it. We are doing gentle walks and the collar is not a bother to him. Thank goodness we found this , so much kinder. If you have a very uncoperative pet then this may not work, but then I guess the other types would also be a challenge!

Great for my dog's operation but will depend on where the wound is
This is so much better than the enormous plastic cone the vet provided. It allows our dog to move without hitting things, is soft and comfortable, and stops him scratching the wound on his neck (he had his lymph nodes removed) and his mouth. He can still lick his paws, tail and lower body as the cone is quite short so it might not work for wounds further down. Much better for eating and sleeping too (we also tried an inflatable donut but he couldn't lie his head down properly).

Quality, comfortable surgery cone.
My girl had eye and spay surgery. I totally forgot she’d need a cone! Of course she came out with a plastic one. Which I tend to dislike anyway.Due to the where the plastic cone collar fastens are, it was making her cough and choke every few minutes; her collar was not particularly tight.I had to get something in replace ASAP. Unfortunately the pink option of the cone wasn’t ready for dispatch until the following day. So I ended up getting the blue & green! Now colour aside - the cone is great!! It’s thick enough to do it’s job, but not so thick that it’s stiff. It’s very soft, making it comfortable in general, but also much more comfier for them to sleep in than the plastic ones!It doesn’t have any fastens for a collar, but there’s room for their collar to go behind. I prefer this option actually.Length wise, it’s great!I have had to attach some self adhesive Velcro (after this pic) - this is just so I could fit it to her better and so nothing flaps about. Personal choice - not needed.I forgot to mention - Xena has only coughed once since wearing this collar, in almost a 12 hour period that she’s had it on!We both thank you. :)

Stops him scratching ears!
Pros: This is very good and soft and stays up fairly well. It definitely puts a barrier between my dog being able to get to his ears and scratch them. Much more resilient than the plastic cones and it isn’t inflatable so no puncturing from the other dogs! Can fold it back when it’s time to eat. Very comfy and as you can see doesn’t hinder him sleeping.Cons: About 8cm too long which means every time Wilbur tries to drink he soaks the cone. Not a fault of the product but Wilbur has realised if he pushes his face against his bed enough he manages to push the cone back and get to his ears 🙄

Lovely item, just not deep enough
Bought this for my working cocker spaniel (recovering from abdominal and tail surgery) as an alternative to the hard plastic one from the vet. The product itself seems great quality - it's soft yet sturdy, the velcro areas are wide which make it feel secure, the colours are bright and fun. She only had it on briefly and laid down - it moulded nicely and didn't seem as awkward as the hard plastic ones. However, it just wasn't deep enough. I used the sizing chart and got a great fit around the neck circumference, but the thing just wasn't deep enough, so I've had to send it back. If you've got a cocker spaniel with an 'upper body' injury, then this would be ideal, but if it's anything below the ribcage, I wouldn't bother.Sad to be leaving a (mildly) negative review, as it does seem like a fab little product for a great price, but I've had to return it as it's useless to us.

Far superior to the hard collars - size 3 for 3.8 kg dog.
I'm really pleased I got this for my dog post surgery on her hind leg. It seems much more comfortable than those dreadful hard plastic ones. I ordered size 4 for a 3.8 kg dog with a 10 inch neck circumference. It was much too big, she could just shake it off. Returned that and ordered a size 3 which is just right at its middle setting. There is scope to adjust a little bigger or smaller. She tolerates it well and can walk around, sit and sleep in it. It's slightly heavy but that's not a bad thing if it's slowing her down a bit. She can't see out to the side but I don't think that can be helped as I don't want her reaching a stifle (rear leg knee).Overall - very happy with it and it's worth every penny.

At last a comfortable cone of shame
When our doggo had his cruciate repair we couldn't bare to think of him in a plastic cone for two weeks so was over the moon to find this amazing cone. Benji is comfortable in it and he can eat, sleep and walk about with no problems. The added bonus is that it is much kinder on my calves! I can highly recommend this as an alternative to the plastic cone of shame and your pet (and your calves) will surely thank you for it

Perfekt
