First and foremost, no, these are not for canning. They have some mild amount of sealing substance around the edges of the lid to contact the top of the jars, but it is minimal, and the tops are single piece, no pop-up, no band/lid setup. I've seen some reviews indicate they rust after a period of time.What they are good for is storage of 12oz worth of 'stuff', where that could of course be permanent if it's not food-related, but temporary at best if food related. I like to prepare tiki cocktails, and that often means a bunch of syrups and similar ingredients that have a shelf life of a week or two at most. These are perfect for that; I prep my ingredients in larger batches, throw them in the fridge, use them, throw these in the dishwasher.In hindsight though, I discovered I can get true Ball canning mason jars from Target for half what they cost on this site, and at a price equivalent to these, so no reason to buy these or shop this site at this point.

I was looking for a few jars to cold pack banana peppers and make my own vinaigrette salad dressing . These are working out wonderfully. They are easy to clean. I'm very happy .

I ordered these jars to use for Kitchen Chemistry Experiments with my students. They are PERFECT...great size and very sturdy...I ordered 2 sets and will order more. They are perfect for making homemade butter and lava lamps!!

Disgusting and unusable after two or three washes. They rust. Do not buy for food use.

I like these a lot. I a food safe glass jar for storing my sea moss gel. The last ones I bought started to rust on the inside of the lid. Hopefully these won’t do the same. Good value for the money, given I got 6 jars.

Says dishwasher safe but lids got rusty almost immediately.

I’m glad I found these jars. I use them for a drink that needs to be shaken before you drink it , so these are perfect

One broke in the sink while washing it with other dishes. One broke in my padded / zipped closed lunch bag after it fell a short distance from the chair to the floor, ruining the lunch bag. And lastly, one broke in my handbag after I placed it in there to cash out from a store quickly (I juice daily). This one cracked into a thousand pieces, exploding the juice everywhere, ruining my $1,500 Macbook Pro, my portable charger and various other important things in my bag. My whole life essentially. :) I'm not sure how it cracked as there weren't any other glass items in there. I wish I shopped around or went with another brand. My life was a bit of a mess consistently because of these damn jars. I would give them 0 stars if I could. If you must buy them, only use them for storage. Do not use them to transport anything (if you must, WRAP THEM).

The lids are cheap and rust after one wash, the jars are also very thin. But they are cheap, so worth the money I guess. Side note, bought third party lids that work great, these work great for storing herbs, spices and nuts.

Good size and nice size, practice but for the price, the top should be of a better quality as they easily scratched

Not a proper canning jar. The top doesn’t even have the ability to pop. It’s more for pouring foods in to store in the fridge, which was not my intent. A few of my lids for the jars don’t even screw on.
