Throughly researched with excellent photos. Brought back memories of my childhood, catching the train from Botanic Gardens.

This series of books has a tried and trusted format, I’ve got several of them. My main issue is the quality of reproduction, sometimes the images are poor, scanned documents not clear, and they stop short of any full detail. But they are a valuable addition to any library of railway books, providing an accessible introduction, filling gaps, leads to other areas of interest, and their coverage of the railway network is phenomenal! For instance, the Spurn Railway is a very neglected subject, the information in this book is very useful, filled a few gaps for me. If it’s an odd corner of the railway, not much to be found on it, there’s a good chance this series has a book on it!

Good value for money and a useful addition to my husband's library as we know this East Coast very well.
