HQ Kites Hydra Series 350 R2F Kite

Ok I know it is a kite, but they don't call it a traction kite for nothing. In a decent wind this thing will snatch you off your feet. This is not a TOY!!! It's fun no doubt, but be warned. It has power and that's the fun part and it has power that's the dangerous part. DO NOT take this out of the box on a windy day and attempt to fly..... you really have to learn to fly it. It is considered a trainer kite, so use it as intended and train. On a mildly windy day a kid can use it.... but it also has the power to drag a full grown man face first thru a cow pasture.... ( did I say that out loud?) Any way it is as advertised - a trainer traction kite. The one I bought is the 350... on the large side of a trainer, I'm an athletic 180lbs. You might consider smaller if you weigh less. If the wind is up .. your size won't matter. Just don't buy one and give it to your kid with out supervision. Have fun and read a beginner guide to power kites.... many available on the net.

The HQ Hyrdra 350 is serving its purpose as a trainer. It has survived some pretty profound ground impacts, which tested the sewed seams pretty well...It appears to be well constructed. Maybe too easy to unpack and launch. I'm learning flying skills, but there are really no adjustments that you can make or learn in the way of rigging or adjustments.It seems high priced when you actually see the little package that contains the trainer kite. Although this concerned me at first, I look back after putting about 12 hours of actual flying time on it and see that it has held up well, it is fun to fly, it packs away very compactly, it goes from bag to launched in just about 2 minutes and packs away in about 3 minutes. The design could use some serious artistic help. After a couple of hours of looking up at this kite the color and design begin to really annoy you. Still it is fun to fly.

Have had this kite for a few years. It's a great trainer for either water or land and can pull 150 lbs. in heavy wind. The downside is It's pricey. There may be less expensive similar kites available now.

Great trainer kite for anyone looking to get into traction kiting or kite surfing. Easy maintenance, good flying characteristics. Too bad they don't make it in several larger sizes to make the transition from trainer to actual kiting.

This is a great kite the only one available to learn with that can be used in the water if you plan to kite surf wouldn't you want a kiite that you can use in the water not it just on land.

I received the kite and found that it was already ready to fly. Went out on a Bf 2 (Beaufort Force 2)day and start flying following the well presented instructions in minutes, no fuss. My daughter and many on lookers were impressed by my instant acrobatic flying skills :-)Just wish there were more colors than lime green.Great buy, now looking to go bigger in the future.Happy flying

This one takes some practice. We took this to the beach and several people stopped to ask where they could get one. It takes some practice to get the hang of flying it but I think that is the whole purpose of the training kite. It also takes some strength to operate. This one is not for the little guys, but the teens and older in our group had a blast seeing what they could make it do.

bin immer noch sehr zufrieden mit dem kleinen, aber feinen Drachen, kein Verschleiß bis jetzt, auch nach einer intensiven Nutzung im letzten Jahr :))

die HYDRA IST SUPER,einfach zu lenken,der Restart klappt einwandfrei und die savety ist OK.Auf dem Wasser werd ich die Hydra 350 bei Gelegenheit testen.
