Very hapy with this product!
***Update on May 18, 2017: Now that I have completed all 33 of my radiation treatments, I can give a better evaluation of the lotion. I am glad I purchased the two-pack lotion. I fully completed using one tube, and almost all of the second tube during my process. Usually, I used it twice a day on my full right breast and under my arm, even before I noticed any changes to my skin; as these were the areas impacted by the radiation. It was soothing to my skin. Did not damage or stain my clothing. I continue to use the lotion over a week later after radiation was completed, as I am now peeling and the lotion continues to offer comfort and moisture to the impacted area. This product had been recommended by someone I met personally during my chemo process; she had been a radiation educator before moving on to the chemo field. I am so glad I found this product on line, because it does not appear to be available in pharmacies. I asked her whether I should purchase the one with Ladocaine, but she said that would be more for patients with maybe a rectal cancer, as the ladocaine numbs the area of skin. She did not feel I would need it for the radiation I was receiving. She was right - I didn't feel I needed that extra ingredient. I highly recommend this lotion to anyone who will be receiving radiation. I believe it has helped me. Of course, you should always consult with your radiation oncologist before making that decision. I have no regrets.*** original message: Received the Miaderm Relief Lotion. I received it just five days ago, after only having received four treatments. I will be monitoring how well it does during my total of 33 treatments and comment again. I am praying this will keep me from the severe sunburn and blistering effects of the radiation that I have heard about. I do like the feel of the lotion. Miraclederm! That's what I have renamed this product! Best investment you can make while being treated with radiation!
For the first three weeks of radiation treatment for breast cancer, I used Aquaphor based on my's doctor's recommendation. Since I had no symptoms, I was content to use it. That weekend I started to get a terrible burning sensation and realized within hours the Aquaphor was making it feel worse, not better. The wonderful nurses where I go for radiation immediately gave me samples of Miaderm - which I have renamed Miraclederm - and I had instant relief. The local pharmacy that carries it is out of stock and can't get any in. Before I even checked with them, I ordered it on Amazon on a Tuesday night with prime delivery not until Friday. The nurses gave me more samples to get me through. I wish I had known about it earlier. They hesitate to offer it because it is so expensive. I think I caught it in time and only had one day of discomfort. It is expensive; but I can't think of anything better to spend your money on when you are being treated for breast cancer. My skin is red but no sores, itching or blisters. Just don't use it a few hours before your treatment. I put it on in the dressing room immediately after. My question to the manufacturer - has this product been found to be beneficial for any other skin conditions? And thank you for creating this product!

A must have.
This product works so well. I was given some before radiation treatments and never got burnt. So now I give a tube to folks I know facing radiation. So far none of them have burned.

Saved my skin
I started using a thick petroleum product on my breast during the first two weeks of a six week radiation treatment. After a checkup with my radiologist, he recommended Miaderm to me after his other patients said they liked it. I did not care for how the petroleum product I was using felt, nor how it greased up my bra and shirt. I only have three more days of treatment left and my therapists asked me today what I have been using. Because my breast skin looks so healthy. It is only slightly pink. No burn damage, no dryness or flaking, no blisters. I really like applying it right when I get home from treatment. It cools the burning feeling and softens and heals my skin. No pain, no itch, no redness. If it seems expensive, well, how much is preserving your skin from radiation damage? I think it is worth the cost to avoid the pain, stress and distress. Apply first thing in the morning, after your appointment, and right before bed.Good luck and best wishes as you journey through breast cancer treatments.

Healing =Meh
A friend recommended Miaderm to me to help with radiation burns. I used it in one area to test while simultaneously using an aloe vera ointmemt in another. While Miaderm offered somewhat of a cool relief when the burns got a little intense, it didnt do much for healing the skin. My friend has a lighter skin tone and mine is much darker, so perhaps that was a factor. I probably wouldn't purchase this again for this purpose. I experienced much more relief and healing with the aloe vera.
