Koinonia KCROASTERS 340 gm Amrut Cask Aged (Kelagur Estate, Chikmagalur) Whole Beans

I'm no coffee expert, but during the lockdown I've been fortunate enough of trying out various coffees from the many coffee startups that have come up in India, from Blue Tokai to Black Baza and Dope Coffee to Sambar Stories. I will share my review to help avoid future Amazon customers from falling the trap, especially for this variety (Koinonia KCROASTERS Amrut Cask Aged Coffee from Kelagur Estate, Chikmagalur 340 gm Medium Roast), like I did:A: What Koinonia KCROASTERS delivered• A grind that was too coarse.• The roast a bit burnt.• Packaging nothing like what is shown on their product page.• The graphics are all blurry.B: Flavor• The smell was somewhat nice, but the flavor way too weak for a medium dark roast.• There is a hint of Rum & Raisins as promised by Koinonia KCROASTERS. They are NOT completely lying.• After taste is too bitter.C: Verdict• This coffee does not deliver on ANY level.• The only thing stopping me from trashing this is the money I spent on the coffee, a whopping INR 900.• I would give it a smashing ZERO stars if that was an option.• I would like a full refund please.• Please avoid it like the plague.

I have been trying different coffees from different brands and origins...this one attracted my attention as it was an "aged in a Cask" variety.The aroma on opening the packet was not something I liked, and sure enough, the first brewed espresso from this was bad. The taste was sour and aroma more like cheap wine than coffee. So, it might be an acquired taste, not for the casual coffee drinker at all.I am sure there are people who'd love this coffee, but I am not one of them.

I have tried almost all blue tokkai and koinonia coffee that's why I can tell that this one is pretty unique by koinonia.It's a burst of aroma in your mouth with every sip.It has a sweet aromatic flavour that will linger in your mouth and you will not find this in any other coffee.I am pretty amazed by this selection and it's a must try coffee.

A unique flavor coming out as a result of the casks in which its matured. Expensive for the overall value

One of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted.It is strong, it is very aromatic and I’ll definitely recommend everyone to have it.
