Amazing speed and performance
I had been putting off the update to the latest Gen4 NVME for a few months as although you don't really see much 'real world' difference - you are really seeing fractions of a difference in loading times in comparison to Gen 3 - I finally decided to take the plunge and oh boy! what a piece of tech this is! I have a Ryzen 3600 with MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk mobo - so was capable of using Gen 4 NVME. *Word of note* Check your MOBO slot as you may have 2, 1 will be a direct pipe to the CPU and 1 will be a MOBO line (chipset) - For best performance, use the CPU LINE - This will often be the M2 slot closest to the CPU. **2nd word of note** Your MOBO heat spreader will be sufficient, you don't need the ostensibly large spreader that Sabrent makes. Now on to performance. I ran this through Crystal Disk Mark several times consecutively and this was my result after 5 runs. To say this is quick is an understatement. Aside from the potentially artificial results here, real-world results were that the latest windows 10 installed off a USB2 memory stick (so not even a USB3 device) in less than 3 minutes. You cant even make a decent cup of tea in that time. ***3rd Word of note*** REMEMBER TO WRITE DOWN YOUR SERIAL BEFORE YOU INSTALL. My NVME shipped with no serial sticker on the box or the tin. I was way too happy throwing it into my rig to even check and then went to register it and was thinking of tearing the rig down when I remembered! Crystal Disk Info! This will get your serial number from your NVME and you can simply copy and paste it into the registration document. VOILA. So in fact, throw this stick into that slot and get to enjoy the pleasure at the finish. All in all, if your system is capable of using Gen4, the tech is now there and this is at the time of writing the review (£168), cheaper than the Samsung 960 EVO plus which is Gen3 (£180) and the Samsung 960 Pro Gen3 (£299). Heck, even if it isn't Gen4 ready, buy it, and if? you upgrade later to a new MOBO etc, you won't need a new NVME.

Simply Works
Having just decided to build a new PC for my wife as she is into Photoshop I discovered just how out of date I was when I discovered M.2 drives. Hmmm. Well, I figured there was little point in not using M.2 but as ever one has to balance cost vs performance and this 500Gb M.2 hard drive for me came in as the best all round option. Also I already had a Sabrient portable drive which, is clearly based on M.2 chips and it worked well with no reliability issues so the name was good. So, bought this which came nicely packaged in a tin box which gave it a bit of a 'quality' feel. Okay, I know this is pure advertising nonsense, but hey, it works. And it fitted as expected and worked perfectly. No issues, no faffing and no problems. Just as it should be. In performance terms I'm sure there will be some very in depth YouTube vids but what I can say is that the PC I built flashes up seriously fast and works super quick and very quietly. I'm quite sure that having an M.2 drive contributes to that hugely. I did see that you can buy heat sinks but as I was not building some sort of esoteric gaming rig I didn't bother and as supplied there is no issues running high demand programs like Photoshop. So, bottom line is that this drive is well made, super fast and bearably priced.

Great value for money
Purchased this drive to use as a Windows installation/programs drive to try and keep everything separate. I've had absolutely zero issues with this drive and everything loads snappy. So good to see we are finally at the stage where NVMe storage is so affordable - it's so much handier not having to run SATA data and power cables anymore! I mainly bought this as I was upgrading my AM4 build to AM5 and wanted to do a complete fresh install of Windows and keep all of my games and documents etc. on another two separate drives. This drive runs super fast and every time I test it on CrystalDiskInfo, I'm always hitting the 5GB/s and 2.5GB/s advertised read/write speeds respectively. I've been using a 2TB Sabrent drive as my games install drive for a couple of years now and still going strong, so Sabrent seem to be the way to go currently for best price/performance.

Faster than Buzz Lightyear!
These drives are expensive so let's not talk about cost. I am though not one to pay a premium for Samsung Evo stuff when the competition does it just as well. The screenshot shows the PCI 4 on the top right. I have had it a while and as you can see the read speed is just as fast. The write speed is perhaps influenced by the fact it's my main drive and there are a LOT of small files, so I would guess it's perhaps more fragmented than my Gravel Drive. The other two are two Adatas I bought a while ago and are libraries so are perhaps more applicable speeds. As a guide I transferred a 13gb file between the drives which took just over four seconds. To me that is the point - I do a massive amount of Video editing and remeber the days when a file of that size would have meant I could have gone shopping while I was waiting. These drives are fast and although not at their optimal speeds, a lot of people forget the computer itself has a limited speed. So whilst you can have these in an array perhaps for a 12Gbs/second benchmark quote, in the real world it's not going to happen. When I back up documents, they transfer sometimes as low as 10mbs/s for very complex files. Video however is easy as is any media. Most files are in fact lightning fast and these drives are a must if like myself you're a serious user.

Initially I noticed how small it is, the box is roughly the size of a pack of playing cards and about half the width. Really high quality tin case which opened up to a really nice looking drive. The price was ok compared to a lot of other pcie4 options and pairing this with a b550 Tomahawk. Transfer speeds are insanely fast compared to traditional SATA options. Windows load times have improved significantly, as well as game load times. Lots of games that load players into servers between rounds such as BFV i'm consistently one of the first to load in. Recommended for PCIe4.0 users.

I’ve been using the Samsung Rocket SSD as my main boot drive for a while now and I’m still thrilled with the results! The 1 terabyte capacity is perfect for my needs and the device is incredibly fast and reliable.. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a high-quality storage device

This is a very fast hard drive , have used as a internal drive in Macbook Pro with adaptor and also as a external drive using enclosure.. although heats up to some extent...works great... highly recommended
