Hockey Anatomy Review: Essential for Every Hockey Player and Coach! - Hockey Anatomy is one of the best training resources I’ve come across. The combination of detailed anatomical illustrations and sport-specific exercises makes it incredibly easy to understand how each movement and muscle group applies directly to the game. Whether you're a player looking to improve your performance on the ice or a coach developing off-ice training plans, this book is a game-changer. What I really appreciated is how it breaks down the mechanics behind shooting, skating, checking, and more—then matches them with targeted strength and conditioning exercises. The visuals are clear, and the explanations are concise but informative. I’ve already incorporated several of the exercises into my training routine and noticed improvements in mobility and power. Highly recommend this book for anyone serious about elevating their game. It’s not just a fitness book—it’s a hockey performance manual. Review: Great for a kid who hates to read - This is an excellent resource for a hockey player. We have a 17 year old who dislikes reading, however loves this book as it relates she well to his conditioning, strength building and hockey. The only book he has ever thanked me for!!!!

Comprehensive anatomical guide for all level hockey players who want to have an understanding of the physiology involved and improve their performance with off ice exercises. All key aspects of the performance are covered in depth: strength, power, speed, agility, mobility and balance. Illustrations are really good. Highly recommended.

Excellent Guide for Hockey Players or Coaches
This is an amazing book for anyone working in hockey! Whether you are a player, coach, or even a strength and conditioning coach this book provides knowledge and insight into how to develop skills that translate to the ice. As a hockey strength and conditioning coach, I use this regularly as a reference.

Great Educational Resource!
As a strength coach it is imperative that I understand the "whys" of what I provide my athletes. Everything is done for a reason and the more I understand those "whys" the better my product and the results it produces will be. What Paul and Dr. Terry have laid out in Hockey Anatomy is not only the "whys" of exercises and their placement in a program, but a simple and digestible "how" as well. Each exercise in this guide to performance is presented in a way that will give you an understanding of how to do the movement properly and why it's applicable to the athlete and the game they play. This has given me a greater understanding of my "whys" and I am more confident in my product than ever. And if that were not enough, options for each exercise are given to widen your menu and help you progress and regress as is inevitably needed in our line of work. This is a top notch educational resource for everyone from strength coaches to players to parents and coaches that want to understand how to provide sound strength training and conditioning that will produce more resilient and productive athletes.

Working with my physiotherapist and kinesiologist I had a hard time figuring out exactly what muscles were being targeted with the various exercises. This book helped immensely. Shows the exercises and which muscles groups are worked along with how it benefits the player and when. Very thorough!

I don't like to read in general, but this book is very simple, good description on all exercise and the muscles it touches and the reasons. As a hockey coach, I recommend it as a tool.
