New Robotech story that honors the past, respects the characters, and updates everything
So this is a continuation of Titan Comic's retelling of the Macross Saga. You may want to read those first (I highly recommend them) as major changes to the storyline occur. Gloval is dead and Lisa is the Captain. A fetching Captain in a skirt, boots, and Gloval's inspired navy uniform. A certain Big Brother is not dead in this version, in fact there are a whole handful of him. The art is amazing and the story touches upon all of the eras of Robotech which is just great fan service. This story does feature Dana Sterling from another timeline. This timeline is clearly superior as Dana was annoying as a child kicking your seat the entire flight cross country in Robotech Masters. Heck, I was cheering for the bioroids she was that annoying. Here, Dana Sterling is a better version.Just because I always thought Max and Myria were super cool, this Titan Comics storyline is very enjoyable. Myria is not the green-haired Betty Rubble who can still fly a Veritech good wife in this version. She retains her expert pilot skills, and yes there is romance sorta in the air between Max and Myria, but she remains a warrior born. The artwork on this is superb and the storyline is compelling. The only downside is that this leads to the next graphic novel entitled Deja Vu, which is also quite good but Titan Comics has not published the ending to the series. Allegedly COVID caused all these delays, but there does not seem to be any plans to actually finish this story. That being said, it's a great read.
