Quick to install, Strong and Secure!
This latch was perfect for my upright freezer in my garage! It was quick to install, and holds on securely and strongly - I recommend it to anyone who needs a strong and secure latch to keep a freezer or refrigerator door from opening. It's meant for a system that has a single door that opens to the left or right (or an over/under style refrigerator/freezer) - so keep that in mind before purchasing. If you have a side-by-side, this latch may not work (maybe along the top edge, but I can't guarantee it either). In that case, a different latch would be better. In my case, I live in a hot area of the USA, and with these soaring summer temperatures, my wife and I worried about the food in our freezer shifting, and having the door open up - and leading to problems. We had this happen once before during the winter, and that was bad enough. I didn't do anything about it then - though I should have. I kept forgetting, but my wife reminded me again and I decided to look. This latch was perfect.Keep the parts together during the following process to ensure proper alignment!1. Decide exactly where and how you want to place the latch, aligned so that the most tape will be stuck to the door. I found that the width of my door seal prevented me from being able to stick all of each tape segment for both pieces to the door - so I had to position it carefully so that the most part of the tape for each part was covered for the best adhesion. You may want to make some marks to help with this.2. Clean the area of the door well where you want to put it - near the handle is best, but if you are trying to keep small children from opening the door, then position it higher where they can't reach it. Use alcohol wipes or a good cleaner; you want to remove all dirt and grease from the area so it will stick properly.3. You'll only get one shot at this, because the 3M VHB tape is very strong (you won't be able to pull it off and reposition if you get it wrong - so do this carefully): Take off the red tape from the 3M VHB on both parts (keep them together!) - and stick it in place. That's basically it. The directions recommend waiting 24 hours before using the latch - so take out any food or whatnot you plan to use in 24 hours before installation. If you can't do that, then just be very careful when you are using the latch. The VHB tape is really strong, and it won't budge much, but after it fully "cures" in 24 hours - well, it ain't moving without some real effort.Don't worry about not being able to remove it - VHB isn't epoxy or super-glue - just extremely strong adhesive; it's used for automotive and similar applications for certain things that need to stay stuck strongly, even under high or low temperatures (I wouldn't expect VHB to work well below freezing or above 120F or thereabouts). So if you really needed to remove it, you can - it'll just take a lot of effort (and you'll need some kind of mineral spirits to remove the adhesive residue).

Stick, Locked, Done. Easy, Secure 1 handed operation.
I doing a van to RV conversion for the first time. I bought a new refrigerator with a freezer. After driving and finding my food everywhere I had to find some type of lock that would work but would be a hindrance, as I live in my van full time. A lot of the options seemed to complex for day to day use. Don't want to have to pull out a key or a magnet every time I need to open the fridge. Didn't want something that required 2 hands to open, which would be a major inconvenience while cooking. And I didn't want any type of strap that dangles and scratches the fridge as it rocks back and forth over time..This product fit the bill, and it is pretty well made. Good strong adhesion 3M tape means my milk will be where I left it. It's a very intuitive and simple one hand process to open once you've trained your mind to remember it's there. It doesn't interfere with the operation of the door and there is no added effort required to close the door. The 2 parts slide together smoothly, with the fridge body part pivoting slightly outwards when open. This well thought out action allows the two parts to sink up smoothly by allowing the device to compensate for the arc of the door swing. Very basic, but very smart. My only issues is that I wish it was a bit longer so more of the door part attached to the door, and that it came in a 2 pack. Fridge and Freezer, need 2.Otherwise, does the job. I would recommend it if you're trying to keep gravity, babies, or drunk frat buddies from getting into your fridge.

Freezer issues...
I actually bought this for a standup freezer. Once in a while, someone would bump into it, look at it wrong, or think about it as it set in the basement and the door would become just adjar enough to cause it to defrost itself after several hours, if not a couple days standing a crack open in the basement where it was not noticed. I thought for SURE this last time that it was the freezer breaking and that the compressor or something went out.Nope. It was just open. In frustration I picked this lock up. While it DOES work, and works great, it does not fully stick to the door and body. This is due to it being on a freezer, which has a wide gasket gap. I can hardly blame the lock for that though. It does what it needs to do, and was very easy to install. I just wiped the area down where I was going to apply it with a bit of nail polish remover to ensure it was clean, peeled the backing off, and pressed into place in the best position I could find for my door. Poof, works great. I did have to modify it prior though, cutting a tab off the rear of it to ensure it set on the door and body correctly. Again, freezer. All in all very pleased. It's doing exactly what it needs to be doing. Keeping the door shut unless I want to open it. Push on the buttons, opens fine. I'm done? Closes with a click. Have not had an issue since.
