Microsoft Office 2000 Professional [OLD VERSION]

I needed an old version of Windows 2000 Professional, and couldn't find it anywhere, and all the young techie types would just say, why don't you quit living in the past and get this super fast program. I wanted to get documents that were saved from an old computer that crashed. Now you know, and for the rest of the story. . .I don't know why I thought about it, but I just thought hummm, I wonder if Amazon would carry that, and I was shocked they did. I didn't get ripped off on the price because it was "classic", nor did I find the product covered in mouse drippings, smell of mold, or anything else like that. It actually looked brand new just as they said.The conclusion: These people seemed to be OK by me, and I remember when they started, and they seem to be doing very well. They contact me just a little more than I like making sure I am still sleeping, and I would just like to keep on sleeping if you know what I mean. It was a great find, a great company, and I hope that is not them going through my refrigerator as we speak. just kidding.

Works as expected. This software is OEM and requires you to uninstall the previous version or same version as I was replacing due to having a copy not original copy. After installing I have noticed that it does take a lot longer to load up each program, but that could be my computer, not sure at this moment. If you are installing this because of the same situation I had don't worry about loosing any of your data when you uninstall the other/old version.

The program did not work on my laptop. It would load for an hour then an error message would appear. I tried multiple times and the same thing happened every time

It was advertised as a complete set of Microsoft Office 2000 in an opened box but when I got it there was only Microsoft Word and and HP printer CD's enclosed in the box. Missing were Excell, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher.

The good thing about Office 2000 is that it's cheap and much better than, say, Office 2007. It has all of the functionality with less of the annoying update notifications, and fewer default settings you have to undo. You don't get buried in menus trying to figure out how to make it stop "fixing" your work in a way you don't want it to. If you have a High School diploma, Office 2000 is for you.The downside is that it has no protection from a particular form of malware called "Office 2007" which will often attempt to install itself on your system without your permission and will lock you out of old Office 2000 functionality and bug you about you owning a trial version of Office 2007 and that you need to (get this) PAY MONEY to keep using it and unlock all the features!! (features which Office 2000 already had)If you own a hard copy of Office 2000 and you get that nasty Malware on your system, you should be able to remove it from the control panel, in the Add/Remove Programs section. If that doesn't work, you can re-install your operating system. And then you can put Office 2000 back on it.

One of the best (maybe the best) MS Office versions ever. Using it in 2016 on Win 7. Get this pre-ribbon version and use it until it's absolutely no longer possible. 2003 version was good too (also pre-ribbon and pre-blues). Microsoft gets new ideas all the time, some are good, and some...EDIT: do Not pay more than 30 USD for this in 2016. Search until you find.

I have used this product before so I purchased for myself. I still like this older version over the newer version. I wish MS would slow down when it comes to making a product "look" different and if changing an existing product, at least keep the same terminology in the menus and options. It is very disturbing when installing a new product and cannot find the options/functions you have used from the previous version.Otherwise this product is very good to use.
