So easy to use and so effective!

Works great - I live in high scale area, this takes care of my ice maker great!

It did a good job of removing hard water deposits from the freezing posts of the ice maker, but it took 5 flushes of the system (filling with water and making ice until the water was gone, throwing away the ice) to get rid of the taste. I'll just have to remember that next time I clean the ice maker. The vinegar and water mix I saw in a YouTube video only took one flush to get rid of the taste but did not get rid of the deposits.

If you love your nugget ice maker, the cleaning process is worth taking 2 days to complete. My ice maker sounded like a loud dying sceaming cat so I knew I was overdue for a cleaning. My husband said the ice maker must have a kidney stone. Ha! I first unplugged the ice maker for a full 24 hours. I added the descaler to the tank with water and let it run 24 hours, dumping all the ice every time the bin was full. I tried the ice after 18 hours and it still had a faint chemical taste so it may depend on your machine how long it takes to cycle through the descaling solution. And I started using distilled water to try and avoid using the hard tap water. If the plastic tubing looks gross, remove the ones you can and block one end with a binder clip, fill it with descaling solution or water with vinegar, and clip the other end with another binder clip. Let it soak for 30 minutes and rinse.

Very useful, does a great job of cleaning my standalone ice maker.

It seems to work

This purchase was one of need for use of our ice maker. Wish I didn’t have to spend money on it, but it’s nice to have an abundance of ice for summer’s heat.

Works ok better off with clear vinegar
