great curtains, but not blackout
I bought these about a month ago and have done a lot of experimenting to maximize the blackout function.First, these are beautiful curtains: well made; lovely fabric; nice, heavy feel. I ended up buying two sets of drapes. Two caveats: 1. The length is not exact, so get the curtains before installing the rods. Mine were an inch long (85"); however, they are easy to hem if you sew. 2. The curtains need full ironing. I was able to reduce the wrinkles by putting them through the rinse cycle and dryer, but I still had to iron the full area, which is a pain. That's the main reason I didn't give them five stars.Second, getting blackout in a room takes a lot of planning. It seems that none of the single-layer drapes sold as "blackout" really are; only the darker areas of the design fully block light. So you have a trade-off between design and function. Most of the light comes in from around the edges of the drapes, so you have to work on that. I got rods that wrap around to the wall, so the drape has a double fold against the wall. This requires that the curtain be about 18" wider than the rod. I had to sew and extra panel on the side because they weren't wide enough for my windows (but I used the rest on another window.) The light coming in over the top isn't too bothersome, for some reason, though it looks bad in the photo. (see photos)I have a south-facing bedroom and have tried many kinds of supposedly "opaque" window treatments over ten years. None of the usual blinds or shades you can buy at places like Home Depot actually make the room very dark, because of all the light coming in around the edges and through holes, even though the material itself is opaque. I was hoping "blackout" curtains would do the trick. The result is that the drapes alone, with my wall-hugging rods, make the room about as dark as the previous treatments. This is dark enough for overnight; it is preferable to the other treatments because the morning light comes in in a more pleasant way. However, the curtains alone are not as dark as I wanted for daytime naps (I want the room REALLY dark), so I use both my existing blinds and the curtains for that.So my recommendation, if you want a really dark room, is to buy an OPAQUE roller shade (cheap and quick to operate), and put the curtains over it to block all the light coming in around the edges of the shade, and to decorate the room. I didn't take any photo if this dual option in use, because it is basically black to the camera.

Pretty with Nice Blackout
I hung these on brass rods in my guest bedroom and they go nicely with the wicker furniture and green walls. My only complaint is that I ordered 2 sets and one set is 2-3 inches longer than the other so one sits perfectly just above the floor and one drags. I was thinking of taking them to a seamstress but don’t know how much that will cost me.

Curtains
They were very heavy duty but they didn't match the furniture in my room.

Very expensive product for such poor quality
Material feels cheep and plastic rings look very tacky.
