I love it
Ok, so who loves a scooper? I do. I have tried dozens of scoopers over the years and read great reviews of this one. I am so glad I listened to the fabulous folks who leave reviews on Amazon. Every few years or so I try a new scooper in hopes of finding one that is easier to use. My search is officially over. I love the Duranimals Durascoop Cat Litter Scoop. This is a metal scooper with some sort of coating over it. I didn't get a choice of color, but I didn't care. (They sent me a pale green one).I use this with scoopable cat litter. Because it is made of metal it stays strong enough to get the wet clumps that are at the bottom of the pan. It is small enough that I don't have to twist my wrist grabbing up half the litter in one scoop. (I'd say the scooper part is roughly the size of my palm.) And the coating prevents it from rusting. Not sure what the coating is, but it is some sort of baked on ceramic or something. It reminds me of pastel cookware. To sum up....this is a great scooper that stays strong, doesn't bend, is small enough to be able to twist around in the litter box, and is coated to prevent the litter from sticking and the scooper from rusting. I bought two of them and am thinking about getting a backup because I found the only scooper I will ever want to use. I am completely satisfied.I ordered this via Prime and it arrived in two days packaged well. Can't ask for more.

Great item. I have multiple large cats who like ...
Great item. I have multiple large cats who like to dig down and pee directly on the litter box surface, creating sticky messes that need to be scraped up. This makes the job super easy. It's also easy to lift heavy wet clumps or large amounts of waste without worrying about it breaking. Overall, it makes cleaning the box faster and easier. Easy to clean and sanitize as well. This is a full sized litter scoop - not sure why it's called 'mini'.Update 1: I have now had this about three years. Zero signs of wear. Continues to be one of those everyday essentials you don't know how you lived without.Update 2: I bought this in 2016, it is now 2023 and I still have the same scoop. The original, 2016 scoop is in excellent condition and I have since bought several more so I can have one near each box. These scoops have performed well with a variety of litter types. A metal scoop makes litter cleaning so much easier - it doesn't bend, flex, or crack with heavy loads and makes it easy to scrape stuff off the bottom. I have had multiple different pet sitters comment on how nice it was to use. Metal is also easy to clean and even sterilize if needed. I will never go back to plastic scoops.

Toss out all others, Durascoops are the best!
Who would have thought a litter scoop could make a person giddy? If you have cats, this is truly a must have. The unsavory task of litter box cleaning is done quicker, and with less frustration, with this scoop. And in this house, that mean's it also get's done more often, which is really win-win for everyone.Have been using it for over a month now, and there is no reason why this scoop wouldn't last a lifetime. No flicking litter when you hit a stuck on clump. No bending. The sides of the scoop keep things in the scoop, so you are only sifting the same chunk once, not 3 times b/c it slid off the side. Sifts out the "little" chunks (though the type of litter you use may work differently, we just have basic scoopable clay based litter). It is very comfortable to use. Don't really understand why they call it a "mini" as it is bigger than the flat metal scoop we used previously, though apparently it is smaller than Durascoop's other model. Great for our three cat household of senior "kidney problem" cats. Now we just need to get one for every box, 'cause all of the other scoops we have are inferior in every way.

A must have if you have a monster size cat.
I gotta be fair, it's not perfect but I did actually buy a second one of these for a family member after my first order came in and I used it.Now, on to the actual product review:One of my cats is gigantic and he likes to pee a whole lot, so the clumping litter gets really hard and stuck to the box sometimes. I had a scoop that looked the same as the except it was cheap plastic. It ended up snapping in half while I was trying to get one of the piss bricks out and I went online and found this one.It is good, and I don't think it will ever break, my only issue is that it the slits get clogged pretty easily and it takes a few whacks against the litter box to get it to fall out. If you don't do that immediately when it clogs, when it dries, you have to use a wet rag or something to clean it... and I don't like cleaning cat stuff by hand.

Cat Litter Connoisseur?
These scoops are great - but are probably best suited for the gravel and clay-based cat litters. I would imagine that the "fluffier" types of litter such as "World's best" and the ones made of recycled newspapers, saw-dust, etc. might not fall through the scoop's slots that easily. These scoops are a good size - but not as large as the ones needed for the above mentioned litters. Best of all though, they are made of metal - good in general and especially when you have to dislodge clumped litter from the bottom or sides of the cat-box.These scoops have a smooth, tough, colorful coating on the metal - maybe powder-coating or epoxy?. I have one that is a few years old and it has never rusted or peeled. For some reason, these scoops are not easy to find in stores - even on Amazon I really had to "dig".

Not as good as the other
There is another Duranimals scoop that is much better. I thought this was the same when I ordered it, but it's not. This one is too small, so it takes a lot longer to finish cleaning the litter boxes. The handle is also not as comfortable as the other one, which is nicely padded. The corners are quite pointed, which makes it difficult to clean the curved portions of the box. If you only have one cat, or only one litter box to clean, it might be okay, but I have several, so this will be going in the trash.
