Can't Stop The Rock: The Stryper Collection 1984-1991

Warning! This is blatantly biased in Stryper's favor, because I'm a long time diehard fan! For years, I had the cassette and the CD. It was like a blessing to finally get the vinyl record edition for my collection. It cost me a pretty penny when I located it on Amazon, but I don't regret it. No other band has made a big impact on me like this band has.

Stryper was the most versatile 80's rock band. Christian/love lyrics with a varying style of rock. Sometimes ballads like "Honestly" and sometimes HARD,FAST rock like "Always There For You" and "Soldiers Under Command"(their hardest song). Whether you like their religious affiliation/lyrics or not, even atheists liked this band. Stryper has universal appeal in the rock category and sound good to this day. Highly recommended!

Its Stryper so of course an anthology of their hits is AWESOME!!! Bonus for me was it was autographed by the band members.

This compendium is chock full of rockin songs. If only it had Stryper's unbelievable rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. You have to get Soldiers Under Command to get that song. This is a nice collection and has a few gems, like Honestly, and In God We Trust. If you really like this you should get Soldiers Under Command, To Hell with the Devil and In God We Trust. In God We Trust is the best overall. Bypass Yellow and Black Attack, Against the Law and any later junk Stryper produced. If you like glam rock, or even just hearing an amazing voice, good guitars and the inimitable Oz Fox on drums, you will rock out with this album, and possibly injure yourself attempting to hit the high notes with Michael Sweet. Sweets recent solo efforts are also good, especially Truth.

loved my order due to the fact that I currently only own this STRYPER piece of music. it came in great shape and loved evry minute of listening to it. would order from the seller again.

This is a compilation of Stryper's best material circa 1991 before they broke up, presumably for singer Michael Sweet's solo career. There are two new previously unreleased studio tracks. For diehard Stryper fans, it's not bad, and includes Lady, easily one of their best songs from the Against the Law album. Other highlights are: Honestly, To Hell With the Devil and You Know What to Do. There is another Stryper compilation also with two new tracks, 7: The Best of Stryper. One of the first openly Christian bands with a substantial following, some Christian leaders have insisted heavy metal could not be used to promote Christianity. They still continue to record today after a long hiatus from this "best of" compilation.

I was wary about this CD, I only knew one song by them(To Hell With the Devil) at the time that I purchased it,After listening to it I was presently surprised and impressed,These guys can actually rock. The subject matter is secondary,because you don't have to believe or be spiritual to appreciate the group. It is a good record overall. Recommended for fans of hard melodic rock.
