ACDelco Advantage 46C1112A (88876945) Steering Linkage Idler Arm

^^^That's how a car part headline is supposed to read folks!^^^ You'll need an impact gun to get the idler arm attached. Otherwise the stem will just spin as you tighten the nut using a standard ratchet. The impact gun also is a huge help in removing the bolts that hold the bracket to the truck frame.

I like replacing my parts with OEM parts because I can count on the quality. Often times, if you buy parts from the major autoparts dealers, you get parts made offshore where I believe the quality control is suspect. Even though they offer lifetime guarantees, who wants to do the job twice. This part is identical in quality to the one I removed from my 1999 Yukon SLT and I expect that it will last over 200,000 miles like the original one did. Wish I could say that the Yukon will make it that long. The bad- The nut that came with mine was the wrong thread pitch. The have changed the threads to attach the idler arm. The provided nut fit on my old part but not the new one. Fortunately, I had one to use since my truck was torn apart and it was after hours, unfortunately it wasn't a locking nut so I had to use a lock washer. I would still recommend buying this but would recommend checking the nut before you take your truck apart. I assume mine was a fluke.

I chose ACDelco over Moog because of the difference in price. Qualitywise it looks OK and changing it was not that hard. Installed on a Tahoe 4WD 95.

Good quality, already loaded with grease and easy to install. It might be a bit hard to pma e si ce radiator hose is close and leaves a small room to use a ratchet or torque but a regular tool would do the job. I removed the radiator hose because I like to torque to manufacturer specs and by removing the hose I have the room for the torque wrench.
