Pretty Bird International Bpb78117 Daily Select Premium Bird Food, Medium, 8-Pound

My Pionus parrot has always had Pretty Bird as part of his diet. He seems to prefer this to other pelleted foods, probably because he was raised on them. Your bird's preference may vary. The price on Amazon is similar to what I find at a regional bird specialty store (which is a 45 minute drive for me), so buying on Amazon is a good option for me in terms of value.

This is the best price I have found for this food. I had been purchasing at a local exotic bird store for ~$4.00 - $4.50 per a 1lb bag, so the savings are much appreciated! This is my 2nd time ordering this: the 1st time the bag arrived ripped and there was bird food in the bottom of the shipping box, but still usable (I separate the food into quart size freezer bags anyway). The 2nd order arrived intact. Both orders appeared fresh and of proper quality.The large quantity is very convenient; it keeps me from having to go out to the pet store so often. Also, I use this as a secondary food for my Sun Conure parrot. She developed some behavioral issues and throws her food excessively and screams nonstop once her dish is emptied. It helps having a lower cost food for such behavior, but that is still good healthy, quality food.

It was exactly as I expected

The product is always fresh and smells great. The delivery was prompt and on time. The delivery person followed directions perfectly. This is especially important to me because of physical limitations. My vet for my parrot says he likes the nutrition included in the Pretty Bird. Her "Baharrah" my parrot's feathers became more brilliant, she became more active and the blend is well balanced. thank you for an overall good experience.

We have used this food for years and it works for our B&G. This size figured to be a cheaper buy than the smaller bags. We are giving it a try to test how well it stores.

We have a 13yr old African Grey , we had him since weaning , after he was weaned we started him on this food as per breeder since African Greys need higher calcium then most parrots , this is what she feeds all her birds , so we kept him on , then our local pet store stopped carrying it , so I checked on Amazon & they had so I ordered it , I normally get a larger bag , but I read it wrong , but I needed it so kept it , but I will make sure I read every thing . I buy the largest bag & freeze it & take out about a pound every week or so to keep it fresh & bugs out .

As a zoo vet tech, this is what we fed our zoo parrots, and I have been feeding my own Yellow Naped Amazon parrot this food for over 20 years. She is over 30 years old now and still healthy, happy and beautiful. Thats 20 years of Pretty Bird Daily Select as her main diet since she has been with me. I can honestly say that is a hell of a record for a single food brand, and I stand behind it 100%. Yes, she does also get fresh veggies, fruit, peanuts as a treat, chicken bones once in a while, pasta some times, and just about anything else we eat, she gets a taste of - except chocolate and avocado, as they are very bad for parrots - but all else is fair game if they like it. I will bypass the other parrot food brands in the pet store, such as ZuPreem, and will go to greater extents to get Pretty Bird.

First time buying this product from Amazon. I bought this item from Brick & Mortar stores for years. This is one of 3 pellet foods I provide to my parrot daily to give her variety. She loves it. I was surprised that the expiration date on this bag was much further out than I usually see. This product was *fresh* and she dug right into it as soon as I placed it in her cage. I buy the 8-pound as it will takr her 4-5 months to go through the bag. The 3-pound bag would require frequent ordering and a 20-pound bag would last at least a year (too long). Great product.
