I just got this unit and tested it on two RV batteries. One is 8 years old and the other one about 4. Both test good, The older one had 500 CCA which should be about right and the newer battery had 600 CCA. Kind of what I would expect. Both showed 100% on the graph. I could have designed this unit with less keys, but more keys make it seem that it can do more. The manual and explanations are bad. You need a little electrical intuition to work and interpret its functions. When the test is running, the display uses weird characters. The programmer could have done a better job there. After the test it shows the voltage, the resistance in milliohms and a percentage graph. If you find the right key and press it, it will show you the CCA. What I wanted to know is the Amp hours. How many amps I can draw and how long, but the CCA should be proportional to the A/hr number. So a 56 amp hour battery should be over 700 CCA.The tester looks and feels well made. For the price it will give you an ok feel about your battery's condition.

This is a handy and inexpensive tool for the DIYer. I used it to test a faulty battery before returning for warranty replacement. The store didn't trust my my tester so they tested it with their "professional" tester. Guess what? They got the same readings that I got, so no questions with warranty. It doesn't have a printer, but for my uses that is an unnecessary expense and something else that can fail. As an added bonus, it comes with a nice carry case. I would highly recommend this tool for the home technician.

This tester is easy to use and gives pretty consistent readings. I got it to test small 12v 7ah batteries used for mobile power for amateur radio, unfortunately the settings increase by 5ah. It still gives me an indication of the health of my batteries that I can use. Better instructions would be nice too
