Excellent for taking small animals (especially cats) on loooong car trips.
I had to transport a cat on a 22 hour drive across two states. It's difficult to let a cat roam free in a car (they like to dive under the driver's feet now and again) and keeping them in a small cat carrier for that long is just cruel. This was the perfect size to fit in the back seat of the car, with the cat's small soft carrier tucked in the corner as a hidey hole (and apparently, as we learned, as a perch). The cat was able to walk around a bit and move and even get a sip of water and a few bites of food (only late on the second day when she got used to the misery of it all). This would be a 5 star purchase if they had created openings on the top or sides to be able to access the animal from more than one location. The only way in was to stop the car and go around to the back. The mesh on the four sides is great for making sure the animal doesn't get overheated and enables them to have a bit of a view out, especially to see you and know it's not just locked in some box alone. It would definitely be way too small for the animal pictured here. That's a bad photoshop job and is definitely a sleazy move (another reason for the 4 stars instead of 5). But it is definitely huge enough to hold a cat carrier and a water dish with room to spare. I probably wouldn't put anything other than a small/medium dog in it for any length of time if you want the animal to be able to get up, but you could put a largish medium size dog in it for a short duration.

Great idea, but the Large isn't Large.
This is a REALLY great idea and constructed well overall. BUT. The Golden Retriever in the picture must be the smallest. Golden Retriever. ever. (Obviously it's Photoshopped, but they were quite loose with proportions) ...because this kennel is very medium for being called a "large." Yeah, I could certainly have been more careful about checking the dimensions before ordering, but hey - I get a little click-happy with Amazon's "buy with one click" setting. What can I say? When it looks like it'll fit a Golden with room to spare, my instinct is to go for it. The photo and the sizing is misleading. (I can't be the first person on Amazon to be taken in by bad Photoshop.)Anyway. I bought this to have a kennel to keep at our relatives' house that can be folded up and hidden away when we're not there - rather than having to travel with our giant (large. Like, ACTUALLY large) cumbersome wire kennel. Our medium-sized, tall-ish lab mix will lay down in this pop up kennel, but she fills it up and can't stand up or turn around without reaallly smooshing out the top and the sides. Not sure it's comfortable to be shut in all night. Bummer, because again, this is a REALLY great idea and constructed well overall. I'd absolutely love one that was twice the size. (AKA: large.) On the bright side, my kid loves to play in it, so we're keeping it. Maybe I can convince my SO to get another dog - like, a small-side-of-medium dog, to fit in this non-large pop open kennel.

Not super durable, but as my dog loves his crate ...
Not super durable, but as my dog loves his crate and has no desire to get out, that wasn't a problem. I keep it folded up in the back of my car so that I have it for wherever we go. (He's scared of thunderstorms so the crate comes out if we're not at home but hear thunder.) I wouldn't use it as an everyday crate, but its perfect for hotel rooms, visiting family, or any other time we want a very transportable lightweight crate. The only thing is that compared to the length of it, it is not very tall. Since my dog is lanky, he was initially very skeptical of it since he can't stand up inside. But when there are thunderstorms or anything else scary, he slinks in and just stays laying down. It's not perfect, but for the price and ease of set up and the fact that you can twist it into a flat circle about a foot in diameter to store it if necessary, it is well worth it. I can't remark on the zipper, as I've never used it (the door stays open) but it seems hardy enough. Great if you have a shorter dog or one that doesn't want to leave the crate, but I wouldn't use it if it actually needed to contain a dog for any amount of time.

Works, but a Bit TOO Lightweight
The compact size when folded is great, as is the ease of setup (refolding takes a bit of practice). One issue is that our 6 pound puppy was able to move it around the room by walking up the walls from the inside and rolling it over. We solved this by putting hand weights on the bottom, which kind of defeats the portability feature. The other issue was that the same puppy quickly figured out how to open the dual zipper fom the inside and escape. We solved this by using a small binder clip to clamp the two zipper pulls together, but this is not ideal either.

Fits in a carry on suitcase and yet is big enough for a golden retriever and a blanket to comfortably lay down in
As others have said, this is a "suggestion of a kennel". Our dog is trained and loves her kennel and never tries to escape. She feels safest sleeping in a confined space and is stressed when we travel with her if she has to sleep in the open as it is not what she is used to. This has been ideal. Fits in a carry on suitcase and yet is big enough for a golden retriever and a blanket to comfortably lay down in. Folding it the first oh dozen times requires a phd in physics but once you get the hang of how it curls up, it is very easy. Any dog who escapes or hates kennels however would be out of this in less than 2 minutes.

Pop up tent for dogs
This is fine for what it is. A cheap pop up tent. I put my 45 lb border collie in it for riding in my small hatchback. I covered it with a light blanket so he doesn’t react to everything he sees and scream in my ear. A real kennel would be better but none fit in car. Really this is very small for him and I only use it for a short ride. I would never leave him in it unattended. He can stand and turn and lay down. It is floppy and will tip. If you have ever slept in a small backpacking 2 man tent, this is that for dogs.

Not for dogs bigger than 45lb 20" H x 21.5 W x 36.75 L
This is exactly what I was looking for, however it is a little smaller than I would prefer. The package says fits up to a 75lb dog, I would never put a 75lb dog in this, my 45lb dog barely fits. The Exact dimensions of the crate are 20" H x 21.5" W x 36.75" L. When it is folded up its about 2 inches thick and 12 inches in diameter. My dog is 20" at the shoulder, This will work for short term kenning on road trips however I would not suggest leaving bigger dogs in for long periods as they can't move about very easily.
