Decor Grates STH612 Classic Collection Floor Register, 6x12 Inches, Textured Black

We bought a new house when we moved to town.But the new vents to our new hose were not black but Brown.So I took to the streets to find new ones you see.But the new ones I found in stores were very pricey!"To the Net" said my spouse. "Find new vents for our house!"After some searching and lots of distractions.I liked these for the price but doubted satisfaction.But I hit buy now! And waited two days.I was delighted my parcel was not in dismay!As I opened the box with much anticipation.I was greatful to see that it matched the description!It fit in my standard gate vent location.With no effort at all and no modification!These gate vents open and close with such ease!I can use just my pinkey toe if I so please!Much more sturdy than the ones in most stores.I went right back on Amazon and bought five more!To sum up my review I'd say I'm quite happy.My spouse is too so that's a wrappy!

Can I tell you how excited I am about this floor register? I bought a new home that has black painted wood floors. They look good ( they will look better after I clean them) but the registers the previous owner had on the vents were "popping out" color-wise and not in a good way. I'm a girl that doesn't want to bring attention to my utilities. I don't like outlets, knobs, or vents to draw away from the style of the room. They had brownish metal registers on the black floors. I went to Lowes and didn't find any black, so next stop was Amazon.Not only are these black, but the paint powder coating on them doesn't shine, its matte, yet attractive. The elegant design of the top of the register is also attractive. I saw some designs like this at Lowes, but they were white and plastic. Since these vents are metal they will work with the high foot traffic as the vent is right by the front door.I'm very happy with my purchase ( three of the black units total).

I love these! We have been remodeling our home and when we put in our new flooring I decided to upgrade our plain white vents. I have beautiful flooring, why should I have ugly vents?? I looked at Home Depot and lowes but the prices were rediculous! Over $30 a vent! To me that’s outrageous! So when I came across these I couldn’t resist. I have had so many compliments on these since I have installed them. Everyone asks where we bought them and are shocked at how inexpensive they are. I do wish they weren’t matte because they are a little bit more difficult to keep clean as they show dirt and dust easy. We have a toddler, 6 large dogs, and a cat. But they wipe off easily.

Very well made floor register. We have it in a high traffic area and have had it there for over a month with both kids and adults standing, walking, bouncing and jumping on it and it still looks as good as the day we took it out of the package. Also, the register cover we needed was a 3in x 10in which is a hard size to find in local stores. This register has a classy scroll look and really beats the old slatted metal one that had been there before. The old metal one bent easily and scuffed easily. This one that I am reviewing is heavy duty, strong and built to last. The knob used to open and close the register is also well made& easy to use (doesn’t stick). We love it!!

Purchased these to replace some oak ones that never matched my kitchen floor. These look a zillion times better. They are sturdy and absolutely gorgeous. I have seen others comment on the louvers being plastic...I personally feel like what do you think you are going to get for this price??? Plus I don't see this as being a downfall??? It is all under the floor.....how strong do you need the louvers to be?? Maybe your airflow is way stronger than mine?

A couple of years ago I replaced white carpet in my master bedroom with dark engineered hardwood. While renovating the rest of my townhouse, I was looking for new vent covers to match new flooring that was going in other areas of the house, and I came across this which is a perfect match to the flooring in the master bedroom. There is no fancy installation (just make sure you confirm the size of the duct before you purchase), just take the old vent out and put this in. As others have noted, the outside is metal, but the inner part, including the vent flaps, are plastic. The benefit is that they are much easier to open and close than the flaps on the old metal vents, but some people have issues with the plastic part partially melting and warping when the turn on the heat. I installed these in the summer, so if I experience problems with them during the winter, I will update this review accordingly. But, so far, they look great with the new floor and seem like a great value for the price.

I moved into a new home and the grates were old, dingy, and looked like garbage. When you are trying to decorate or create a more upscale look, there is nothing like an eye-sore on the floor to kill the mood. So I bought more than a few of these because the price seemed good compared to what I found at the big-box home improvement stores. These are a pretty solid combination of metal and hard plastic. I've seen the all-metal more expensive registers and these look every bit as good.I ordered through Amazon and got them quickly & in great shape. No issues there.I'm using these in all rooms in the house and have run hot and cold air through them with no issues. Kitchen - no issues. Bathroom - no issues. Living room - no issues. I would purchase these again especially to avoid high costs elsewhere.

I actually used this instead of plastic grille on an old chimney stack. I painted some fine mesh back and stuck it to the back of this item. Much better on the eye that plastic grilles

Looks good but I was a bit concerned that the open/close switch was made of plastic being this is a floor grate cover. As expected within a couple of months the switch has snapped off. Shame as it looks a lot nicer than the metal covers

Wow!! These are so perfect for my house and decor. Perfect size and perfect color. Cannot say enough about these. Had to buy 9 and it was so worth the money. Came quickly.
