Fairly bright for flatwounds
A bit brighter than I typically expect from flatwounds, but still a far cry from normal roundwounds. Not a good or bad thing - just a preference note. Contrary to some warnings, they actually bend pretty well — just not quite with the same bending RANGE as roundwounds. If you bend your G string a lot, you might not like the wound G that doesn't bend as far as a plain steel G on regular electric strings. On the other hand, the wound G contributes to better tone & volume balance across strings for closed-position &/or jazz chords. They can feel "sticky" when new, despite being smoother than roundwounds. This mellows out quite a bit after 2-3 days of playing. They keep their punch a LOT longer than roundwounds - I change the plain steel high B/E strings 2-5 times before I feel I need to change the wound strings. I suggest bulk ordering B/E strings if you decide to switch to flatwounds.

Well balanced tone
I was looking for a brighter top end on my vintage Guild hollow body archtop w/ DeArmond pickup to offset the bottom heavy amplified sound I was getting with other strings (e.g., T-I, LaBella, Black Diamond) . These GHS stainless steel strings deliver a nicely balanced amplified tone and, considering these are electric flatwound strings, are even satisfactory when playing un-amplified. If you require highly-polished flatwound strings to reduce unwanted sound, look elsewhere, because these have a VERY slight texture that will rub if your fingering technique is a bit lazy.

Good attempt
My only real complaint is that theHigh “ e “ string does not last as long as others.

Excellent strings a good balanced sound
These strings are awesome! I get a nice bright sound even though they are flat wounds. Also, I like the light bottom strings a .50 instead of a .54.Gives a more balanced sound across the six strings. I use them on my '56 Gibson ES125

Will not suit everyone.
I installed these and they did not suit me. I removed them and replaced them. These strings aren't for everyone.
