Glass Corner Shelf Kit, Satin Nickel, 12"x 12"
Delivered on time and well packaged. The half-sheet instructions leave a lot to the imagination of the buyer. Before ordering make sure the angle between the two supporting walls is indeed close to 90 deg; a much wider or, especially, much narrower angle might not allow for a proper installation. Although the kit came with 2 wall screws, 1.5" long, and 2 anchors per bracket, it is unclear from the instructions that two screws must be used for each bracket. In fact, because: [1] the design of the brackets is such that a single screw through the upper, slotted hole should be sufficient to provide the necessary hold for a shelf loaded with reasonably light items (as one would expect for a glass shelf); [2] a pair of holes for 2 screws to secure each bracket would be sufficiently close to one another to raise the possibility of weakening that area of the dry wall; and [3] using another screw through the lower, round hole of the bracket could lead to non-trivial marring of the wall just under each bracket when clamping the shelf, as discussed below, I decided to install each bracket with only one wall screw through its upper hole, which is reinforced with a rectangular "steel flake". Note that to mount the shelf firmly, the holding wall screws must be fully tightened. To do this, the brackets' jaws must be sufficiently opened to insert a screwdriver to tighten the wall screws, and such an opening is wider than that needed to clamp the glass shelf in place. The problem here is that once the bracket is firmly mounted on the wall, clamping the shelf by tightening the screw at the lower end of each bracket --a process that moves up the larger part of the bracket's body-- can scratch the underlying wall. To minimize this, I attached each bracket to the wall with its jaws closed enough so that a thin Phillips screwdriver (with shaft diameter just slightly bigger than the glass thickness) could be inserted to tighten the single wall screw of each bracket, a procedure which left only a very small upward displacement needed to clamp the shelf (using two wall screws for each bracket would have required a much bigger opening of the jaws, leaving at least about 1" of upward bracket displacement to achieve clamping). Finally, I do not agree with two prior reviews. One claims the shelf dimensions are not given but the item's title ends by (at least now) "... 12-Inch by 12-Inch," which pretty much sums it all; the other claims the anchors are for masonry and not dry walls, but what I received were Hillman-like, light duty dry-wall anchors, such as the one in [...] (but in white and with smooth retaining side fins). Given the design and the material of the shelf, I did not see the need for heavier duty anchors -- if you are doubtful, Wall-Dog or Raptor anchors should certainly give a stronger load support. We needed the shelf for a renovated bathroom (its satin finish goes quite well with all the Grohe bathroom fittings) and it could be quickly installed. It is now firmly mounted and holding all the items without any problem. Looks good, too.

GREAT Space-Saver and QUITE Seamless!
(Based on my true story.) You can't beat this price! Try buying the hardware and a customized glass piece and it would be so much more! The kit was nicely packaged inside and for shipping. The glass edges were properly finished, with smooth, curved corners. I loved it so much that I bought another. One would need a drill, drill bit, screwdriver, tape measure, and level for installation. If one is used to doing these types of projects, one will have this beautiful, space-saving, unobtrusive shelf up in no time. I didn't follow the instructions noting where the support hardware should be placed--6", half way from the front or back of the 12" sides. Instead, I did mine purely based on feel--at the 4" mark from the front or 8" mark from the back, as it felt more balanced this way; more like the picture on the box. Someone who is an expert at physics would know better--unfortunately, it was never my favorite subject. I used all the parts, including the anchors and my shelves are VERY sturdy. My only wish is that the company would post the average load weight somewhere in/on the packaging and online. Otherwise, I ABSOLUTELY love it! A couple more varying sizes would be nice as well.

Solution for loose glass
This is a very pretty and contemporary shelf. A number of the reviewers mentioned that the glass shelf was loose on top of the brackets. I was a little hesitant about the purchase for this exact point since there can always be a careless moment when you bump into the shelf and the thing comes sailing off. I solved that issue with a glass clamp that I had left over from another project. these are the most common glass clamps that you can probably get for cheap at any HD/Lowe's etc.. You can likely also find them on Amazon. I placed it in the diagonal part of the shelf (nothing to put on that part anyway) and it now holds the shelf securely in place. This way, problem solved and I can enjoy this beautiful shelf without any worries. The montage was a little bit clumsy since you have to mount one shelf bracket, then place the glass on it, while holding the other side of the shelf. Place the second (not yet secured) shelf bracket underneath that other side and then hold the shelf/that bracket with one hand. Place a level on the top glass plate and mark the drill holes for the second bracket, ensuring the shelf is leveled. Note that a benefit that the glass shelf is not attached to the bracket is that the brackets can be spaced out at will. Since the average space between studs is 16 inch, one can thus place the brackets in two studs, securing a stronger hold.

Good shelf, looks pretty, not sure how durable
I've just installed this glass corner piece into my shower, and I think it looks quite nice. However I did notice the glass arrived a little scratched up, and I'm a little nervous about how durable these mounting pieces are. After installing the mounting pieces into my shower wall (drilling into tile is no easy task!), I attempted to tighten the clamps onto the glass. The clamps like to grip the glass up to a certain extent; if it grips too hard, the glass starts to slide out from the clamps, which can be a little annoying. Furthermore, when placing any items on the inside corner, the shelf wiggles and dips in a little bit, due to the clamps not tightening into the wall tight enough. In the end, I made due with some mounting tape to secure the clamps in place, so that they don't cause the glass to wiggle. Still though, I'm a little unsure as to how durable this is, or how much weight it can hold... but this'll have to do for now. One other thing to note, is that the mounts keep the glass away from the wall by a good 1/4 - 1/8". If you wanted this corner shelf to be flush against your wall, you'll likely have to brainstorm some other ideas on how to mount the shelf.
