Quick lock for Peace of Mind
Not designed to leave your bike overnight or long periods, but on a bike ride with a quick stop for coffee, this will deter theft / make it hard for a grab and run. Sure, the "key" is universal, but what thief is actually sitting there all day, waiting for just the right bike rider to come and lock up the bike with these? Simple to use, some peace of mind when needing to temporarily lock the bike, easy and light to carry.

Fantastic product!
I love this. I use it to secure my motorcycle helmet to my bike when I don't want to carry it around with me. I got the orange one so it provides some visibility enough that people will see it's secured and won't try to steal the helmet. Having used this for a few weeks now, I find myself thinking of what else I can use it for, and whether I should buy more, perhaps in different colours! Whilst it's probably not TOO difficult to defeat the two prong key lock, it does provide ample security enough that it will stop everyone but a determined thief. Get one, or two, or more!

Failed on first usage, not durable. Just use zip-ties.
I knew going in that these weren't intended to be particularly secure, and more as a deterrent from very opportunistic theft. It's true these won't stand up to someone that wants to steal your bike, but that's not why I'm giving it a one-star review. The 1-star review is because every time you use the "key" on these, you're basically bending a bit of metal. After enough usage, the ratcheting mechanism no longer works and you've got a useless piece of plastic and metal. In the two pack I ordered, that failure point was the very first time I used it on one of them. The other one has lasted the one or two times I've tried it, but I don't think it'll continue working more than another 2-3 times. That makes these extremely expensive; you'd be better off just buying disposable zip-ties and carrying nail clippers with you to "unlock" it.

Good for certain uses
If someone is using this to lock their bike up, they can expect to find their bike gone. It's too easily defeated for that use. For much lighter duty locking and as a deterrent, it works pretty well. I have a heavy chain, which I use to lock my bike, but it doesn't always reach the front wheel. That is quick release, and could cost a couple hundred bucks to replace (not to mention the pain of getting your bike home without a front wheel). I use this just to lock the front wheel to the frame. It's an added peace of mind, and perhaps a deterrent from a quick grab. I've also used these for keeping cabinets closed, and keeping little hands away from cleaners, paint, and chemicals.

Poor quality, requires modification to work reliably
The concept is brilliant but the execution and quality are heavily flawed. I bought this just to so I could prevent someone from walking away with my bike when I make a quick mid-ride stop at a coffee shop or brewery. It keeps the honest people honest, but will do nothing against someone who is actually committed to stealing your bike. All that being said, the build quality of the locking mechanism is pretty flawed. There are 2 thin metal tabs that "harpoon" out and catch the zip tie surface and prevent the zip tie from backing out after you insert it. When you use the included key, the key compresses these metal tabs back down, and allows the zip tie to back out and unlock. The problem is, the key over compresses the tabs, so the next time you use the lock, the metal tabs don't engage the zip tie as deeply as before. By the 3rd or 4th time you use the lock, the zip tie no longer locks properly...you can rock the zip tie back and forth and it back out freely because the metal tabs no longer properly engage. I was able to solve this by shaving my key down so that it doesnt compress the tabs as heavily, and also by flaring out the metal tabs out more by using a using a small screwdriver. Now it seems to work somewhat reliably, but I will always have to double check the condition of the tabs and yank on the zip tie after locking up to ensure that it's properly engaged.

Great for small items
These are great little locks for small items like locking your helmet to your bike.

works for what it is.
pretty cool little lock. Its not going to stop anyone from cutting though it but it's perfect for keeping things from 'walking away'. I used it to lock my helmet to my bike while I'm in a store.

Test immediately when you receive the goods
I use this brand quite a lot and this is the first time I’ve had an issue. Seems like there was a quality control issue for this batch because one of the bands snapped when I to bend it to insert the end into the lock.

This is a simple zip-tie lock to deter grab and go theft. This is *not* to be used unattended on its own. A simple use-case will be to use it at a cafe where you have eyes on the bike at all times or to tie up your front wheels to the frame in conjunction with a proper bike lock. In this case, it is a nice compact lock to bring along everywhere.

Works as described, quality of material seem sturdy, I use this to secure my side bag on my motorcycle which can easily be detached from its bracket.

Fonctionne parfaitement et semble solide, utilisé pour les roues sur le porte vélo, mais bien mettre un antivol performant avec.
