SAMOTECH WIFI WATER LEAK SENSOR (2-pack Water Sensors)

I purchased one of these from Amazon, and was so impressed with it I've bought another 6 from the suppliers official website, as they do a bulk offer. You need to download the Smart Life app (free - no subscriptions required) on your phone, and then change your phone's WiFi connection to the 2.4GHZ band - if you have your WiFi router set up on separate 2.4/5GHZ connection, as I have. It should automatically detect the 2.4GHZ signal otherwise. Then add a new sensor in the Smart Life app. It found and connected all of my sensors after a short while.The sensor then sends an alert to the Smart Life app for water detected, and then when water no longer detected. These pop up as notifications on the phone. I've set them up around my flat, under pipes etc, with the sensor facing downwards onto a piece of paper towel. This set the alerts off when I tested them by wetting the towel.Battery life seems ok so far. It's easy to pop them open and replace the battery if needed.Brilliant things. Gives me some piece of mind knowing I'll (hopefully) get some kind of warning if my pipework starts leaking. Surprised these kind of sensors aren't more common in homes.

I bought two of these after the more expensive Honeywell Lyric failed to connect to the network.This samotech device arrives in a simple white box and the battery is preinstalled. The wifi and app pairing instructions are printed on the box. You download the smart life app (ios and android) and run a simple installation process registering the device with their cloud and your wifi access point (2.4G only it says in the help file of the app).Once registered I tested it in a tiny amount of water and within seconds I received a sound alert on my phone. You can also set up the app on multiple phones e.g. your spouse and both get the alert. Brilliant. Easy, cheap and works. Can't speak for how long it will work but the day 1 impression is great.

I bought these water sensors for the larder, where the mains water comes into the house, and for next to the floor-mounted combi- boiler. I use them on the "Smart Life" app and I tested them thoroughly before attaching to the wall and I had no problem with them whatsoever. I lie, I had one problem.When I added them to the Smart Life app I didn't realise that all of the tests I conducted would send push notifications to my wife who was at work at the time. She received every single test "alert" and "alert cancelled" notification. It might have helped if I'd told her about these sensors in advance. Lesson learned. I must remember to let my wife know in advance before adding more smart tech to our home.Only one little gripe. The battery in one of them was showing 61% charge. I guess it has been sitting on the shelf for a while. The second one was at 89%.

Bought this leak detector due previous leaks in the bathroom. Tested it and works fine one installed and when water reaches the 2 contacts. Installation was not straight forward and had to try a couple of times before succeeding as the blue flashing light timed out. One thing missing is it has no audible warning on the detector which would have been a nice addition. At present the only warning is through a notification on the App which may not alert if phone is on silent. I have also managed to get my smart lights to flash by linking via IFTTT.

Connected to my system instantly, thankfully it's not been needed but I've tested it a number of times and it works as it should. Rechargeable with a long battery life I'm well impressed. We just fitted it in the bathroom to help avoid flooding.

Device was easy to set up and did as expected. Sent an alert to the app but you need to open the app to see if there has been a leak. No alert to phone unless you subscribe

Was worried the cable length was short but it is probably around 500mm. Does what it says so installed on my boat to monitor bilges.
