Smells
I wanted to like this vitamin but I've taken them two days in a row and vomited shortly after. I can't bear the smell of the vitamins even before the bottle gets opened. I'm disappointed as I spent money on these vitamins and can't even finish them.Update: I'm adjusting my rating for the excellent customer service and quick response. I am willing to try different products from their line when I am no longer pregnant.5/26/25 postpartum update: I decided to give the prenatal vitamin another chance because I really like the ingredients and that this brand does 3rd party testing. I'm able to better tolerate the smell. I do notice my milk supply increases when I take the vitamin and my milk is lower in supply when I forget to take it, not sure if it's a coincidence or if it actually helps boost supply. I am happy with the vitamin and will continue to use Thorne!

Excellent Prenatal Vitamins From a Trusted Brand
These prenatal vitamins have been great throughout my pregnancy. They contain pretty much everything you’d need as a pregnant woman—folic acid, iron, and other essential nutrients to support both mom and baby. What gives me the most confidence is that they’re from a highly reputable brand, so I can rest assured I’m getting a high-quality product. The pills are a reasonable size and easy enough to take daily without any issues.Overall, this is a solid choice for anyone looking for reliable prenatal support.

Clean quality 3rd party tested
These were 3rd party tested and had great clean results. I have been reading into ingredients and learning all of the stuff about the ingredients the body needs and it has the good forms of all ingredients. Example: Folic acid is actually man made and is in most of the prenatals, but Thorne has the natural form our bodies actually absorb, which is 5MTHF. I have the MTHFR gene mutation so I need the 5MTHF in order to absorb it in the first place. This product has been amazing compared to all the other brands I’ve tried. Even higher rated brands.I have 3 kids and I have tried all different kinds of prenatals. These Thorne ones are by far the best ones I have had. My daughter is 9 months and I still take them because they make me feel great! I take 2 instead of 3 because I also take other vitamins on top of it. But it is so worth the price.

4/5 Great quality, but the smell is hard to handle!
I’ve been taking Thorne Basic Prenatal for a while now, and I can definitely say the quality is excellent. It has everything I need during pregnancy — especially the active forms of folate, iron, and B vitamins. I trust the brand and feel confident that I’m getting clean, effective ingredients. However, I have to mention the smell. The pills have a very strong odor — almost like penicillin or antibiotics. At first, I thought something was wrong with my bottle, but after some research, I found out it’s totally normal. It’s caused by the high levels of B vitamins (especially B1 and B2), folate, and iron — all of which have naturally strong smells. Also, I noticed that my urine becomes bright yellow and smells like the vitamins, especially in the first half of the day. Again, this is a normal effect of riboflavin (vitamin B2) being excreted, but it can be surprising if you’re not expecting it.If you’re sensitive to smells like me, I recommend:• Taking the vitamins with food• Drinking extra water• Being mentally prepared for the odor 😅I’m still finishing the bottle because the formula is solid and well-balanced, but I wish they could find a way to improve the smell. That’s the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Highest quality prenatal
Best prenatal in my opinion on the market. Tried a couple different brands throughout my pregnancy and always felt best when taking these and they are quality ingredients and high quality benefits of the methylated formulation. Also taking postpartum and feel it really helps my milk supply and hormone balance after having baby

Great product but bad smell
So far very happy with this product. The only downside is the bad smell of the pills so I recommend not smelling them and just take them with lots of water.

A prenatal that has it all
I have had 3 miscarriages so I was on the search for the best prenatal pill on the market. I needed something that had it all. I needed to feel like I am doing all I can to provide my body with the nutrients needed. I researched everything on the market and landed on Thorne prenatal. It checked off everything except omega- 3 DHA (sold separately). I thought I'll pay whatever and buy both if that means I get all the nutrients. The pills are great for the nutrients but it is a struggle to have to take 5 pills total (3 basic prenatal and 2 prenatal DHA. And it does not help that the Basic Prenatal literally smells like cat urine. I had read the reviews on the smell and thought surely it can not be that bad.. oh it's bad lol. This is why I give it 4 stars and not 5. If you can easily take pills without gagging, you will be fine. I have to smell something good and then immediately chug a pill and repeat until I've taken all the ones that smell terrible. It was hard to find a prenatal that checked off everything so I am willing to suffer through the smell to get it all. I have also noticed the prenatal makes me want to urine more frequently (I am not pregnant yet) just prepping my body and the urine it highlighter yellow. I believe this might be the B12 in the pills.
