It's a winner.
I have read many books by Preston Child and have loved them all. This story has wonderful locations and a sensational new creature. Buy it, you'll like it.

Too unrealistic
It would be boring if it where life like but the ending is so unrealistic that it ruined the entire book.I do like this author’s other books.

Beside a great adventure read I increased my vocabulary!
Lots of great interaction between the people I had fun looking up a lot of technical descriptions. Great fun on all levels of writing!

To Crew or Not to Crew?
I'm not sure that I enjoy this character. While his intuition works for him, his inability to stick to his values inevitably pulls him into another scheme.

Awesome
Great addition to the series. The characters are showing more depth, more complexity, and are evolving or maturing nicely. Great read.

A bit too much
I am a devoted fan of Preston and child, but this volume just didn’t grab me. A reach too far for me. Every civilization has its myths and legends, but if one takes the myths of one culture too far away from its anchoring center which gives its myths and legends their eternal allure - well, guess that allure went missing for me in this volume. Good, pulse-pounding action as usual.

Good one time read
I thought the book was fairly good. It went along at a good pace and the characters were well defined.

These guys are great.
This book was suspenseful and showed the true character of the supposed good guy.

Another quest for ancient artefacts
Parts of this are so exciting that I couldn't put it down. An art theft, old map, a mystery quest for ancient artefacts and a run in with ruthless treasure hunters all combine for a thrilling read. Then it all goes a bit too far fetched, stretches credulity and is too drawn out. Such a shame or I would give it 5 stars.

Another winner!
Read from start to finish as quickly as I could. Well plotted and another good story. I've now read a few of this authors books and have enjoyed them all. Recommended to any reader who likes good adventure but out of the ordinary.

Pretty good yarn all in all
Pretty good yarn all in all, plenty of excitement and fairly well written, and a good page-turner. However, the term 'Social Engineering' is said SO MANY TIMES I was wondering whether the author was getting paid for each mention!

Loved it - despite its fantastical premise!!
I loved this book, because even now parts of our world are undiscovered mysteries. The premise is ludicrous, fantastic and unbelievable and yet, some parts of you wish this was true.
