If your male cat has urinary tract problems, you need to buy this product BEFORE you go ahead with the alteration operation your veterinarian has recommended as a solution to your cat's struvite crystals build up. I decided to look into alternative methods before spending the $2300 for my vet to bypass the narrow point in my cat's "tubing" that prevents the crystals from passing. Solution: #1: NO MORE DRY CAT FOOD, and #2, add L-Methionine to his diet daily. My cat weighs 13 lbs. and I give him 100 mg. at dinner time every day. I simply open a capsule, divide it into 5 parts and scrape off one "line" each day into his food and mix well. Be sure to cover the unused portion for the 4 days that the rest of the capsule is sitting on the flat tray you use to divide the L-M. My cat was under 2 years old when he first starting having problems, and I was feeding him a very good, grain-free brand of food. My cat's problem is, he doesn't drink water, so he's going to have problems. I make his food, which costs me half of what any decent canned wet food will cost you. I simply braise (low temp and a little water) frozen chicken tenderloins, then puree it and the water in the blender. I add more water to really make it like baby food. The more watery the better for my guy since he really drinks zero water otherwise. If your cat still needs more water, entice him by putting a little of the food mixture in about a 1/4 cup of water and see if he will then drink it. My cat has been clear of all struvite crystals (or so it seems since he now pees freely and without pain) for 10 months now. My vet said there is no exact amount of the L-M to give the cat, but the 100 mg works for my cat, so I hope it will for anyone else's too.

At long last - the "holy grail" of mitigating a lifetime of allergy problems that has been untreatable by doctors or any kind of drugs! Don't get me wrong, this is not a cure but it lowers histamine levels, bigtime. My research on L-Methionine also led me to discover a diagnosis I doubt any doctor would ever attribute because it doesn't involve an expensive treatment or pharmaceutical to prescribe: histadelia. Look it up. Having naturally high histamine levels has a HOST of characteristics and it doesn't stop with allergies. Folks, this amino acid - one of the 7 essentials that you get anyway if you eat meat (but probably not enough - is the shiznit. I take one in the morning and one at night, sometimes a third. DO NOT take too much. From Dr. Axe's website: "According to the World Health organization, adults need about 13 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day of methionine, and it’s best to make sure you don’t overdo it since it could cause health problems if too much is consumed on a regular basis." As for Now brand, they are decent and they price their stuff well. I wish they would not put magnesium stearate in their supplements, which does add up the more supplements you take containing this superfluous stuff. I would pay more to have this one ingredient omitted and they will eventually lose my biz if they don't stop. Other than that, this stuff does what it is intended.
